This one’s for you.” - KCRW The ever-evolving genre-bending India-based project Peter Cat Recording Co. announced their new album, BETA last week and today they are back with the first single from it “People Never Change”, a track that traces the consequences of choosing the way you wish you live and love. Driven by affable dance beats and horns, it’s a snapshot of what to expect from the album which forms a whimsical amalgamation of indie, alternative pop, psychedelic, and more. Listen HERE. Each album thus far has served as a temporal snapshot, capturing the members' personal evolution since their last offering, a painting of the living and the lived. With BETA their third installment out August 9th on Muddy Water the group's familial landscape expanded through marriage and childbirth. The band notes of the album: “BETA is a collection of stories about the future told 50 years in the past, to make sense of the present, on our only home, planet Earth.” Produced by Suryakant Sawhney, Kartik Pillai, Dhruv Bhola, and Peter Cat Recording Co., BETA was one of five album titles that could have been. They wrote down all five, put them in a hat, and let the drummer Karan Singh's 6-month-old son reach in and pick. BETA emerged, an endearing word for "Child" in Hindi.  Tickets for the groups headline dates are on sale now.
