XKYLAR" Stream | YouTube After years of touring and releasing music in the indie-dance outfit Paper Idol, LA-based artist Matan KG takes a bold step into electroclash as Deep Thrills.  The debut track from Deep Thrills comes in the form of "First Date," a collaboration with LA-based electropop artist and visual designer XKYLAR (recently featured in Paper Magazine). The bloghaus-friendly dance track tells the story of a bad first date in dialogue fashion, with each character telling their side of the story. The track was inspired by real events: "I was going on a lot of first dates at the time," says Matan. "dating in LA can be really fun but also really strange – I feel like a lot of people will relate to the lyrics of the song."  With "First Date" as a thrilling introduction, Deep Thrills emerges as a compelling sound in the electro landscape, poised to captivate audiences with his bold creativity and authenticity.   Single Artwork Deep Thrills Bio: In August 2023, Matan KG was nearly thrown off a bridge. "I was walking home from a friend's in Atwater, and this guy randomly came up and rammed me into the overpass ledge. I almost fell onto the highway below."    This brush with death caused a radical awakening, as well as a creative renaissance. "I went to the studio and didn’t leave for like a month. It was maniacal." He eventually left the studio with 13 new songs that contained a newfound rawness and immediacy. Blending left-field dance music with distorted guitars and vocals, Deep Thrills is a testament to lust, untamed passion, and visceral emotion.  After years of touring and releasing music in the indie-dance outfit Paper Idol (featured in Consequence of Sound, Under the Radar, American Songwriter), LA-based artist Matan KG presents a bold new twist on electroclash as Deep Thrills.
