October 4, 2023 – This week, Nettwerk Music Group partners with Sofar Sounds, a global company connecting artists and audiences through live music, and mental health non-profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), for a special series of shows aimed at raising awareness around World Mental Health Day on October 10th.
Nettwerk artists in Austin, Los Angeles, London, New York, Portland, Toronto and Vancouver will participate to bring awareness to the healing properties of music and performance with the hopes of creating an open dialogue among music fans and de-stigmatizing the conversations around mental health. A portion of proceeds from the shows will go to support To Write Love on Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.
“I am so grateful to be at a place in my mental health journey where I feel ready and comfortable talking about my experiences with predominantly depression, but also anxiety,” said artist Lily Kershaw, who will be taking the stage in Los Angeles on October 13th. “I have had the opportunity to play a few Sofar shows over the years, and I have always loved and appreciated the intimate and supportive environment they provide.”

“Creating a safe and inclusive space for artists and audiences to connect through live music is core to Sofar's mission. We're honored to partner with Nettwerk and support artists in their journey towards mental health through this series of performances while also contributing a portion of proceeds to To Write Love on Her Arms, a leader in providing crucial mental health resources to those in need.”

“Nettwerk is thrilled to partner with Sofar Sounds on this series of shows. We are constantly inspired by the many artists from our roster who advocate for normalizing open conversations around mental health, so it’s wonderful to celebrate this moment by bringing these artists together in a live setting for them to share their music, their stories, and provide a safe space for audiences to connect, heal and grow. We are proud to support an organization like To Write Love on Her Arms, which for over fifteen years has been a leader in providing crucial mental health resources to those in need.”
Amber Gardner, TWLOHA Director of Partnerships said:
“At TWLOHA we believe music is a safe space. Music reminds us that we can connect with and share our emotions, and then it gives us a way to do just that. Identifying and processing our feelings can be part of caring for our mental health. When we can’t do that with words, music steps in with all its lyrics, melodies, rhythms, and harmonies. It can help remind us of who we are and free us to live in that truth."
