(April 28, 2023) - Today, producer and singer / songwriter yunè pinku releases her new EP BABYLON IX via Platoon, her second project which breathtakingly broadens out the rising star’s sonic universe.

BABYLON IX is a kaleidoscopic six-track collection which imagines a rave in space: a deep dive into a futuristic world. With a multifaceted narrative drawing from psychology, ancient myths and Hindu stories, opener "Fai Fighter" pulses with an electric frequency, tinged with 80s synths and chopped up, dissociated vocals, while "Blush Cut" opts for shimmering trance stabs and atmospheric breaks. Upbeat garage cut "Night Light" sparkles with late-night sonics, while Heartbeat takes things down a notch, a propulsive ballad with a dark heart. Awash with breakbeats, "Sports" revolves around an earworm vocal hook, and Trinity completes the project: a charged, mesmeric rave burner.

yunè pinku stormed into the music scene with the mesmeric and textural single "Laylo", which marked the first single of her effervescent, critically acclaimed debut EP Bluff, a heady and thrilling first statement of intent. The burgeoning producer is now set to hit the ground running with her BABYLON IX project. Written from a fever dream-induced lens, it’s a move away from the “sad girl garage” pinku has been making previously and envisions a glossy, sci-fi landscape with huge, structured pop songs bolstered by her ethereal electronics.

We were first welcomed into this new musical dimension with the evocative "Fai Fighter"Loaded with mythic symbolism, the accompanying video draws us into an enthralling new world of occult sound design and ancient celtic references.

Having collaborated with rising Australian dance star Logic1000 on breakout hit ‘What You Like’ and a co-sign from Joy Orbison, who invited her to contribute a guest mix during his Radio 1 residency, pinku’s 2022 began with a coveted mix for The Blessed Madonna on New Year's Day. The young artist has since received extensive press and radio support, most recently being named Billboard's emerging dance artist of the month for April, all whilst finding key allies and support from the likes of industry heavyweights Pete Tong, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Danny Howard and Clara Amfo to name a few. Having recently completed a UK/EU tour supporting Biig Piig, yunè is set to play festivals including Primavera a la Cuitat, Sziget and her debut live shows in the US this summer.
