(28th April) Artist, producer and innovator Luna Morgenstern has shared her pulsating new single "Jealous", the latest taste of her upcoming EP 'Dance Dance (Don't Go)' out 9th June via Nine And A Half.

Combining club-leaning sonic touch-points with her love of some of pop music's brightest shining lights Charli XCXShygirl and Caroline Polachek, upcoming EP 'Dance Dance (Don't Go)' captures the cravings for living life without limits... for a rush of adrenaline and the simple yearning for something, anything to happen.

Newly released single "Jealous" moves between club-ready euphoria and nostalgic Y2K aesthetics; an altogether fascinating hybrid of pristine, modern electro-pop and dynamic, drum and bass referencing dance-pop. For its accompanying visualiser/lyric video, Luna created an infinite feedback loop with two early 2000’s handicams, to represent the spiralling that occurs when jealousy takes a hold of you.

Speaking more on the lyrical inspiration behind new single "Jealous", Luna says:

"I was (unknowingly) the cause of someone’s jealousy and it was very hard for me to witness a relationship go to pieces because of it. I wrote ‘Jealous’ in the first-person perspective to get a better insight into what that person might have been feeling. It’s a song about the crippling grip that jealousy can have over a relationship. And about realising that you’re sabotaging yourself and your relationship, but yet being unable to stop acting on your impulses. It’s about subconsciously pushing someone away because you’re afraid to get hurt."

Blending progressive, modern pop-songwriting with festival-ready dance influenced production, the Amsterdam-based, Cologne-born creative is quickly cultivating a reputation for her rapturous live show and enthralling productions.

A self-taught producer, Luna shapes powerful melodies and delicate vocals with production that takes inspiration from EDM behemoths Kaskade, Da Hool and Gigi D’Agostino: “Growing up, I used to buy these compilation CDs called BRAVO, so I would end up listening to these huge dance and trance hits when I was really young".

Upcoming EP 'Dance Dance (Don't Go)' also doubles down on the nostalgia with an accompanying CD release, which is available for pre-order now. Pairing fictional and autobiographical elements, the EP stands as a fragmented series of diary entries covering topics of coming of age, identity and love in a world dominated by social media.

The EP will feature its recently released title track, and previous single “IDONTOU” (pronounced ‘I Don’t Owe You’) which saw Luna recount a dark period in the Dutch music industry; highlighting cases of sexual assault but with a focus placed on reclaiming her own body, and the bodies of her contemporaries.

Across the project, raw, emotive lyrics tell Luna’s personal stories, while a backdrop of dancefloor-inducing beats transport you to a Berlin night out; all making Luna Morgenstern one of the most exciting and innovative artists leading the European charge.

Luna Morgenstern's new single "Jealous" is out now. Dance Dance (Don't Go) EP follows on 9th June via Nine And A Half.
