Daniel Avery today unveils a new video for
“Yesterday Faded,” a track from his recently released album,
Together In Static. The video is an excerpt from the film of the same name – directed by
Tom Andrew and
Sam Davis – that was recorded during Avery’s live performances at London’s Hackney Church in May 2021. Watch
here.
Reflecting on
Together In Static, Avery says, “
Living inside the world of Together in Static has been an intense and beautiful experience for me. From finishing it in lockdown, to the live gigs at Hackney Church through to the concert film - the record has helped light the path back to some form of normality in my life. I’m really happy to close this chapter with Yesterday Faded, one of my favourite tracks from the record, and I’m gassed to see what happens next.” Out now via Mute/Phantasy in the United States and Canada and via Phantasy worldwide,
Together In Static was originally conceived specifically for the Hackney Church concerts. Stream and purchase

Last Friday, The
BBC Concert Orchestra performed a medley of Avery’s work as part of BBC Radio 3’s
Unclassified Live: Transforming Sound event at London’s Southbank Centre. The evening was curated by
Elizabeth Alker alongside conductor
André de Ridder and featured the orchestra lending its powerful sound to an eclectic range of pioneering artists. Avery’s component was arranged by the boundary pushing London-based artist
Quinta. A live recording of the event will be available
November 25.
Avery recently shared a new remix of his track
“Lone Swordsman” by Throbbing Gristle’s
Chris Carter. The track was originally released in 2020 as an homage to the iconic
Andrew Weatherall. Stream the remix and purchase the limited edition single-sided 10” vinyl
