Houston-born artist reggie continues his upward trajectory with his third release of the year, “Traffic,” out now. At the end of his last video “Avalanche” featuring Smino, reggie teased a snippet of new song “Traffic” that left fans eagerly anticipating the full version. Produced by Groove, Naz and Phoelix, the track’s southern roots are on full display. Atop a soul-dusted backdrop, reggie’s buoyant delivery and his earnest songwriting create a unique and refreshing blend of hip-hop, soul and R&B that push boundaries - a sound reggie’s name has been synonymous with.
reggie’s art has started to catch on with some of the industry's biggest trendsetters. He was recently selected as Youtube’s Foundry Class of ‘21, an honor given to only 26 artists from around the world, and most recently he was announced as a fellow with the newly launched Cash App Studios - a new initiative from the mobile payment service to help fund independent creatives and artists. Critical acclaim for reggie has rolled in since his first releases of “Southside Fade” and “I Don’t Wanna Feel No More.” His first release of 2021, “Ain’t Gon Stop Me” (produced by Kenny Beats and Monte Booker) was performed for COLORS in conjunction with Burberry. Pigeons & Planes named him one of their “best new artists to watch”, i-D Magazine featured him in the Summer 2021 print issue and praise from Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and more. In addition to making strides in his own career, reggie lent his services to fellow Houston artists, writing and executive producing B critically acclaimed new album Weight of the World. reggie’s debut has been anticipated since his initial string of one off singles and fans can expect a project on the horizon and more music in 2022.
