Peter Bjorn and John Release Off-Kilter Love Song “Idiosyncrasy” Today via INGRID; Band Entering 20th Year With LP 9 Endless Dream out March 13, 2020 |
New York, NY – 13th December 2019 – Peter Bjorn and John release “Idiosyncrasy” today, the third new track off their forthcoming studio album Endless Dream – due out March 13th via INGRID. An off-kilter love song, “Idiosyncrasy” was penned by the band’s John Eriksson and follows the Morén’s “Reason To Be Reasonable” and Yttling’s “Rusty Nail.” When asked about the song John said, "I think I wanted to write the ultimate love song. A love song that everybody can relate to. Okay, maybe not everybody but definitely some people.” Adding, “When I wrote it, I was listening a lot to blues from the 20s and 30s so this track shaped itself in to some kind of odd, self-aggrandizing blues.”
These first three song releases represent each member’s distinctive songwriting skills and ultimately the band’s signature indie-pop sound thanks to recording Endless Dream together at the INGRID Studios – a different approach than their last LP Darker Days. Endless Dream is the band’s ninth album and 2020 will be the Swedish trio’s 20th year together. The accompanying artwork for the three singles and the yet-to-be-revealed album art were created by illustrator Graham Samuels who also worked with Peter Bjorn and John on their now classic 2006 LP Writer’s Block. You can also see Samuels’ art throughout the music videos they’ve been releasing with each new track. The video for “Idiosyncrasy” is live now via Consequence of Sound HERE, you can watch “Reason To Be Reasonable” HERE and “Rusty Nail” HERE.
