Rubblebucket announce Spring 2019 tour + reveal live video for "Party Like Your Heart Hurts"

2018 has seen Rubblebucket release the critically acclaimed new LP Sun Machine(Grand Jury Music) and in support, tour North America playing to packed rooms from coast to coast. Today the band are happy to announce a 2019 tour that kicks off March13 in Rochester, NY and concludes in Richmond, VA on April 12. These dates are in addition to the two previously announced shows -- January 25 at the Paradise in Boston,MA and January 26 at Brooklyn's Brooklyn Steel. All dates are listed below. Today the band share a peak of what their explosive show looks like via a live video for "Party Like Your Heart Hurts" (which on release landed a New Music Friday nod). Today's clip was shot at Union Transfer in Philadelphia and debuted via Relix who calledSun Machine "introspective and upbeat." The band's Kal Traver told them, "I had an image of a Gaiman-esque flirtation between a normal guy and a woman who was secretly a million years old and has seen the earth crumble decay and spring forth again over & over and who has exploded many men's lives (in a good way) and who isn't really a woman, she is actually a certain facade of Earth it's self, as we all are. And she takes this guy home and shows him a wild night where time stands still and they make a kind of love that crumbles his former egoic existence and he is reborn as a self-contained loving parent child continuum, and at the end of it all she steps out onto the sidewalk and finds herself lonely again." Rubblebucket released a number of singles prior to the release of Sun Machine including "Fruity" which saw airplay on Sirius XMU and "Lemonade" which hit the #1 spot at KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic playlist. Sun Machine was co-produced by Rubblebucket (Kal Traver and Alex Toth) and while it documents the pain of ending their romantic relationship, the LP emerges as an unbridled and often-euphoric celebration of their lasting connection. The breakup inspired much of the album, yet Sun Machine is deeply informed by several other life-changing occurrences in recent years: Kalmia's diagnosis with ovarian cancer in 2013 (followed by a round of surgeries and chemo treatments), Alex's decision to get sober after a long struggle with alcoholism, and the couple's three-year-long attempt at maintaining an open relationship.
