“Lost Without You” is building momentum with over 40 million streams and has also been added to BBC Radio 1 playlist and played by Capital FM. The track hit No.1 in the Independent singles chart and sits in the Top 10 in the iTunes chart in the UK.
Since the release of singles “Lost Without You,” “Blackout” and her spine-tingling cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s classic “Maps,” Freya’s monthly listeners on Spotify have catapulted to over 1.6Million. Freya also recently shared a High Contrast Remix of her track “Ultraviolet” and is featured on the new RL Grime record “Shine.”
Freya has spent the summer touring the UK, Europe & US including appearances at Montreux Jazz Festival and Barn on The Farm. She recently performed at high-profile US festivals, including Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. Freya is set to return to the US this fall for a performance at Austin City Limits, as well as intimate shows at Joe’s Pub in New York on November 20, and atThe Troubadour in Los Angeles on November 23.
Contending with being incredibly shy and feeling isolated at school, Freya found her extraordinary, vibrato-rich, pin-drop voice when she was in her 7th year at school and invited to perform at an open-mic night. Freya explains, “I sang quite low for a little girl, I did this whole raspy thing. Suddenly, though, I'd found my own way. To this day, I still can't believe I got up there. The whole room went crazy. And that was the moment where I thought: 'Maybe I can take this thing that's my own private thing, that I've done on my own, and actually share it with other people.'"
But whether it is live, sitting at the piano, or strumming her guitar, Freya has distilled a short lifetime of uncertainty, and transformed it into remarkable songs, with one of the most powerful voices.
