"James Supercave fearlessly explore newfound territory in 'Something To Lose'...Rarely does a song come along that from its very inception triggers an unmatched feeling of excitement--a sense of exhilaration caused not only by a brilliant beginning but the promise of something truly breathtaking. James Supercave has crafted one of those very rare songs with 'Something To Lose,' an explorative track that mesmerizes from the outset and continues to deliver in spades throughout its entirety."

JAMES SUPERCAVE today (4/12) have partnered with Live Nation's "Ones To Watch" blog to premiere the band's first single, "Something To Lose," since 2016. While retaining the band's signature pysch-pop aesthetics and alternative musical sensibilities, "Something To Lose" evolves the band's sonic sound in a neo-soul direction. Click here to listen to "Something To Lose."

"The mood was clear to me from the start," says the band's lead singer and songwriter, Joaquin Pastor, about the writing process. "The music feels like catching eyes with someone across the dance floor and knowing that you're gonna need to find an exit together. There's no rest in the music, it just keeps driving, never gets home. I think that's why the chorus lyric feels right to me. After waiting forever for what you want, you end up with something you're bound to lose. That's ok though. Feels better to want things than get them." Asked about the band's influences, Joaquin says, "Jungle and Flying Lotus are huge sonic influences in general, but especially this track, which aided in constructing what I feel is modern soul on top of an experimental dance beat."

JAMES SUPERCAVE--Joaquin PastorPatrick LogothettiAndrĂ©s Villalobos and Collin Desha--are set to headline a Los Angeles hometown show Friday, April 27 at The Bootleg Theater where they'll perform"Something To Lose" alongside additional new material from their forthcoming EP (details on new EP TBA). Additional bands on the bill are Pompeya and Lukas Frank. Tickets are on sale now and available here. The band will also headline Brick & Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco onSaturday, May 12.
