Athens, GA's Double Ferrari are excited to announce their first-ever US tour, opening for friends Bit Brigade throughout the Midwest and eastern United States on 15 dates in April. See below for the full list of dates.
Double Ferrari just completed a successful run at SXSW, where they received advance praise from both NPR (securing spots on both their esteemed "Austin 100" and the All Songs Considered SXSW Preview) and Kerrang, who made the band one of their "Five Bands to Watch at SXSW." Last year's self-titled album received adulation from the likes of Decibel, Metal Injection, and their hometown ragFlagpole, who called the album one of their "17 Favorite Local Albums of 2017."
Headliners Bit Brigade, which includes three members of Double Ferrari, performs rock covers of full NES video game soundtracks while a gamer (their de-facto frontman) completes the games live onstage. Double Ferrari explores the vibrational and harmonic capabilities of the electric guitar in a high-energy, uptempo hard rock context. Their self-titled debut album was produced by Tim Green at Louder Studios (The Fucking Champs, Melvins, Joanna Newsom) in Grass Valley, CA and was released by Ernest Jenning Record Co. on vinyl and compact disc (Nintendo Entertainment System cartridge pending.)
Guitarists Jace Bartet and Bryant Williamson, drummer Ryan Houchens, and Bass VI player Luke Fields have each cut teeth in various bands for over a decade, with current projects spanning stylistically from the propulsive juggernaut of Cinemechanica and the DIY multimedia experiment of Bit Brigade, to the exuberant big-band folk rock of Family and Friends. The component pieces of Double Ferrari construct a canopy of sound under which a belief in the inclusive, engaging, and affirming power of rock and roll is sheltered.
Instrumental music can be about something. By eschewing vocals, Double Ferrari asserts that the human voice is merely one among many instruments that may or may not be included in music. The stories of Double Ferrari songs are subjective, but real, and there for the taking. Close your eyes and have your own adventure.
