Fleet Foxes have announced additional headline and festival dates to their previously announced 2018 tour, including stops at Coachella in Indio, California;, Boston Calling in Allston, Massachusetts; and Shaky Knees in Atlanta, Georgia. The band’s full, thirty-nine-city international tour (schedule below, new dates in bold) routes through the southern part of the US and features a two-night return to Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. These dates follow an eventful 2017, including sold-out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Hollywood Bowl, which Billboard called a “triumphant return.” While on the road, Fleet Foxes made two appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, performing "Third of May" and then "Fool's Errand" as well as a full session at CBS This Morning. Additionally, the band offers an inside look at their touring experience, behind--and on--stage, with special guests The Westerlies, in a video by Sean Pecknold that can be seen here.
Fleet Foxes released their latest album Crack-Up on June 16, 2017 via Nonesuch Records, following a six-year hiatus. The band earned international praise for what the New York Times called ”a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”” The album also received widespread recognition in year-end music coverage, including lists by Esquire, Consequence of Sound, Paste,Uproxx, Vulture, among other.
“On Saturday night at the Hollywood Bowl, Robin Pecknold was as powerful as any performer who’s ever played the Bowl’s stage. He was a flash of folk and light and feeling. He was gentleness masked in fury, or maybe the other way around. Whichever it is, he sure as hell won’t say.” - Uproxx
“Triumphant Return… Despite the large venue, Pecknold’s vocals were able to reach those in the far back, highlighted by the band’s impressive musicianship… It all coalesced to create a rich, ethereal setting.” - Billboard
“The culmination of a two-hour high-wire act full of intricate, often breathtaking music. Judging by the flushed, smiling faces of the faithful as they file questly out, one that’s been worth the six-year wait.” - Q Magazine
"The show felt like it had disregarded the laws of physics, with each perfect transition between songs threading time together, making you feel like there was no such thing as an end." - Seattle Weekly
"They brought with them everything fans love about Fleet Foxes: layered harmonies shepherded by Robin Pecknold's still-incredible voice, pastoral lyrics, and an almost religious-seeming intensity that made the Crystal feel like a cathedral."
- Portland Mercury
"Bigger and better after hiatus." - Washington Post
"Tuesday night's show showcased the immense talent of everyone involved in the group for a truly engaging live experience." - New York Daily News
"The six-year wait seemed almost worth it for the chance to spend a short while in the company of Pecknold once again." - Consequence of Sound
"Pecknold’s ultra-pure voice and timeless, picturesque lyrics soared through the hall all night, raising goosebumps at the peak moments in beloved “oldies” like “Ragged Wood,” “He Doesn’t Know Why,” “Helplessness Blues” and especially “Mykonos.”
