(Video Still)

"...Friedberger sounds purposeful and composed, unflappable and free - like a songwriter sure of her words and content with letting easy musical designs lead her where they will." - NPR Music

"Indie rock's most charming conversationalist hits a new pinnacle." - Rolling Stone (4/5 Stars)

""At times New View can seem like a concept record detailing Friedberger's ambivalence about her main gift: spinning fragile memories and feelings into accessible songs." - Pitchfork (7.8/10)

"[New View's] best songs are about the sweet bafflement of new love and the tenuous nature of happiness; rarely does ambivalence sound so lovely (and catchy)." - New York Magazine

"...Friedberger on New View travels in fluid, seamless melodies, and uses them in service of lyrics that revel in poeticism." - Los Angeles Times

Earlier this year, Eleanor Friedberger released her stunning, critically-acclaimed third solo record entitled New View, and today she shares a captivating animated video for "Does Turquoise Work?" made by Friedberger's bassist Jonathan RosenRosen illustrated the song in the form of over 1,000 hand-made drawings in an improvised process, reflecting his personal interpretations of the song's lyrics. "It feels not only like a companion piece" saysFriedberger, "but a hypnotic compound of song and imagery, guiding one another." PRESS HERE to watch it now via Nerdist.

The release of the video for "Does Turquoise Work?" also marks the beginning of the second leg of her US tour, where she'll be bringing songs from New View to the stage.
