“Her sound embodies a majestic fluidity” FLOOD
(May 12, 2026) - Marine electronica’s pioneering siren Oxis announces her new album Oxis 9, out July 17th via Boom Records. The ninth installment of her eponymous series of projects includes the recently shared singles “Grey Mullet” and “Scup”, along with the glitchy and enthralling “Knifefish,” which arrives this Friday.
Coinciding with the news of her imminent new album, Oxis is also launching WASHOUT, a series of immersive events and experiences that develop the world of the Oxis project. WASHOUT’s first edition will be launching in New York City this week, where she’ll be performing songs from her new album at an intimate Omakase dinner this Thursday and will be playing her debut DJ set at The Lot Radio this Friday at noon, which you can watch live HERE.
Oxis is constantly churning out music. Top of this year, she released the album Oxis 8 via Boom Records, which includes the standout tracks “Fingerling,” “Guili,” “Piranha,” and “Fry,” and received praise from the likes of Stereogum, FLOOD and Pigeons & Planes, the latter of which named her to their Artists to Watch in 2026 list.
Continued with Oxis 9, this series of eponymous Oxis projects represents a brave endeavour to capture coming-of-age feelings at their most heightened, like lightning in a bottle. That duality of universal emotions, like a shot of adrenaline or salt in a wound, finds its way into Oxis’ music without a flinch. The prolific nature of the Oxis project also showcases her growth as a musician in real time, solidifying her confidence and stature as a producer, songwriter and vocalist, while exploring new sonic territory across each new installment. Earlier this year, Oxis stopped by the Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles where she performed “Long Sardine” and “Dogfish,” and last year, Oxis demonstrated her production process in a stripped-down, intimate reimagination of her songs “Fry” and “Pirhana” for a live session with The FADER in New York City.
On Saturday, Oxis will be performing at Sounds That Move festival in New York City alongside mark william lewis, Villager, overkast and more. This spring, Oxis has been on a run supporting Bob Moses and Cannons across North America, where she performed at the iconic venue Red Rocks Amphitheater and still has dates at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on the horizon. Full live dates below and tickets available HERE.
Pre-order / save Oxis 9 and sink into “Knifefish” this Friday, see below for album details and live dates and stay tuned for more from Oxis coming very soon. |
