Today, the artist unveils the album version of this highly praised performance from his upcoming album Kiss The Beast (out 1.30 on Because Music). Blending elegant melodies with sophisticated sonic textures, the track creates an intimate and sensual universe, where Tellier’s voice intertwines with refined arrangements, offering a suspended, timeless moment. About the inspiration behind “Parfum Diamant”, Tellier shares: "I remember my teenage memories, my first naive emotions, lying under the sky, sharing an ice cream… Capturing the magic of a man and a woman united in a quest beyond the surrounding discord." "We shared our dreams and it’s insane" sings Tellier in this spatio-sensory ode to adolescent emotions." From Paris to London, with contributions from Oscar Holter, SebastiAn, Victor Le Masne, and Daniel Stricker, Kiss the Beast unfolds as an ambitious mosaic, anchored by Owen Pallett’s strings, Nile Rodgers’ guitar, and the appearances of Kid Cudi and Slayyyter. The album is where Tellier condenses and transcends his experiences: an extravagant love letter to pop, both intimate and universal. Last month, following the introspective ballad "Naïf de Cœur", Tellier continued to explore the world of Kiss the Beast with "Thrill of the Night", an electronic disco track infused with French Touch vibes, featuring pop disruptor Slayyyter and legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers. Since then, Sébastien Tellier has been far from idle, working on three film scores, releasing two EPs, producing for some of his peers, and delivering one of the most memorable performances at the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024 with his timeless “La Ritournelle.” Twenty years earlier, the release of that track on his second album Politics had already established Tellier as one of the most charismatic artists of the 21st century. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he has explored diverse musical territories ranging from pop and folk(s) to electronic.
