Speaking about archangel, midwxst shares, “archangel is more than a project to me. It’s a representation of change and transformation from all that I’ve experienced in the last couple of years. The music on this project talks about my mental health, my friendships, and my family. There is a lot of hurt and growth - this project is a testament to the importance of healing and moving forward.” In various religious traditions, the “archangel” is a high-ranking angel often seen as a healer, protector, and chief messenger. The aspirational name and concept for the album align with the young artist behind the music, who is working to put himself in that position for his family and his community. The new album features a more mature midwxst and finds him refining his sound for this new era. midwxst shares, “With this project, I have integrated all of the eras of my sounds from SUMMER03, Secrets, and E3, into a more mature, accurate sonic encapsulation of who I am today.”  midwxst will be celebrating the album release with an immersive experience at The Lightbox in NY from 9pm to 12:30 a.m. where he’ll also be revealing new music videos for his tracks “resolution” and “hostile.” archangel follows midwxst’s previous project BACK IN ACTION 4.0. the latest in midwxst’s mixtape series known for its apocalyptic production and explosive vocal performances, as well as his critically acclaimed debut album E3, which provided listeners a path forward through relationships, identity formation, and the internet.  Listen to archangel above and find details below.
