Duke Garwood has announced details of a new album, Satin Warrior, set for release on 16 May 2025 via God Unknown Records. Garwood is currently on a UK tour, which continues through March and into April with a London date at The Grace on Saturday 5 April.

The new album, Satin Warrior, moves between landscapes of hope and foreboding, traversing long form compositions that sit between improvisation and structured song writing. Duke Garwood and longterm collaborator, free improvising drummer Paul May, employ an array of instrumentation to create spontaneous layers that build up into hypnotic fully fledged songs.

“Music is made from love and hunger, a desire to embrace the fantastic, the exceptional.” – Duke Garwood

Satin Warrior brings together a mixture of jazz elements alongside Garwood’s signature fractured blues-infused guitar, bursting forth with a combination of ensemble horns and kinetic rhythms. Garwood’s soft but gravelly vocal laments guide the listener through his poetic visions where he melds the dreamlike, allowing occasional shades of reality’s light to creep in.

Duke Garwood has long been celebrated for his unique sound and profound musicality. With a career spanning over three decades, he has collaborated with a wide array of artists, cementing his reputation as a versatile and influential figure.

Garwood has collaborated with an impressive array of artists including Mark Lanegan, Savages, The Orb and Morcheeba.

Satin Warrior is out on God Unknown Records on 16 May
