Today, Tamino unveils the latest single "Dissolve" off his forthcoming album Every Dawn's a Mountain, a major focal point of the record that highlights its main sonic pillar – the Arabic oud — the fretless stringed instrument he's been playing for several years now. Originally written in the middle of winter, "Dissolve" arrived during a long exploratory stay in NYC, while he was living in a tiny sixth floor walk-up apartment without warm water on Bedford Avenue. Some time later he began playing it live, singing half-finished lyrics, and on the setlist simply called it "Bedford," after the song's birthplace. The track gradually developed into a standout of Tamino's live shows, and similarly, with its lush oud-filled melodies, it became a real centerpiece of the new album.

Out March 21st, 2025 via erēmia/Communion Records, Every Dawn's a Mountain is fueled by the feeling of fire, and realizing that everything that has been built before and within you is about to burn down – perhaps for the best. The record is one about loss, displacement, breaking up and letting go of the past. From those embers of emotional wreckage, Tamino emerges and enters his next chapter. Written primarily in his new home of New York City, the LP brings a new beginning for the Belgian-Egyptian artist whose music earned him collaborations with Mitski, Radiohead's Colin Greenwood, David Byrne and an opening slot for Lana Del Rey. He headlines arenas in most of Europe and the Middle East, and as Bob Boilen once declared, Tamino has "one of the most remarkable and memorable voices to ever grace the Tiny Desk."

Already the album's recently released lead single "Babylon" arrived to acclaim with major support across radio – landing him adds at SiriusXM's Coffee House, Acoustic Café, WXPN and World Café – plus additional love from streaming platforms and international playlists including Spotify's coveted US New Music Friday, plus editorial love from Rolling Stone, The Independent and NYLON, who called the new album "a turning point," in a recent interview. Read the full NYLON feature HERE and revisit "Babylon," which Tamino has declared a cornerstone of the album, evolving in three monumental cities – Brussels, New Orleans and New York – each their own modern Babylons, HERE

Though he was first inspired to learn guitar by his grandfather – famed Egyptian singer Muharram Fouad – the album's arrangements are largely built around the sound of his Arabic oud. Tamino's voice smolders throughout, flaring from deep and sultry one moment to a flickering falsetto the next. "Using music to convey deeper messages is key to what Tamino does," described The Guardian. "It's led many to compare him to the late American singer Jeff Buckley, but with orchestral arrangements nodding to his Arab lineage."

Produced by Tamino and longtime collaborator PJ Maertens, with co-production by Eric Heigle (Arcade Fire, Dawn Richard) and Alessandro Buccellati (Arlo Parks, SZA), and additional production by Chris Messina (Bon Iver, Big Red Machine), Zach Hanson (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso) and Jo Francken, Every Dawn's a Mountain follows Tamino's 2022 album (Sahar) and 2019 debut (Amir), and is mainly backed by Tamino's live band of musicians. In March he will return to the road for exclusive intimate release shows in Rome, Berlin, Paris, London, Amsterdam and Brussels, before setting out on a North America headlining tour with stops at New York City's Brooklyn Steel, Los Angeles' Belasco, San Francisco's The Fillmore, two nights at Chicago's Thalia Hall and more.
