Phoenix shoegazers Glixen are excited to announce their second EP, quiet pleasures, arriving February 21, 2025 digitally via AWAL and on vinyl via Wichita Recordings. To celebrate, they’re previewing the project with today’s single, “lick the star.” Starting eerily quiet, the band swallows silence in favor of lulling strings and vocals, leading into a whirlwind of feedback and distortion. A tornado of silver-lined melodies and swirling guitar riffs, Glixen continues to push the envelope.  “This song is special, it begins with a mellow sonic bath of an intro and explodes into a whirling wall of sound and melody,” says bandleader Aislinn Ritchie. “Also, we are excited to announce our first full US headline tour. Glixen has had a massive year of touring. From playing SXSW (see Rolling Stone) and Treefort Festival to supporting genre stalwarts like Interpol, DIIV, Nothing., Tanukichan, Turnover and Glare, Glitterer, Softcult and Fish Narc, they’ve played to packed crowds across the country.
