“[Zsela] introduces (or reintroduces) listeners to her hypnotic, honeyed voice and reels them into mutual vulnerability with each subsequent word” — PITCHFORK

“Stunningly one-of-a-kind… immersive, commanding, and unapologetically itself” — KCRW

“a new and imaginative musical era for Zsela” — PAPER

Earlier this year, Zsela released her highly anticipated debut album, Big For You, via Mexican Summer to praise from fans, critics, and contemporaries alike. Ahead of her upcoming European tour, Zsela now shares the official video for “Still Swing,” a highlight from Big For You. Watch HERE

Directed by Sean Frank, the “Still Swing” video was filmed at Stud Country, the queer line dancing event series at Club Bahia in Los Angeles.

“It was really scary at first to flash mob this established event with headphones in singing 2x speed, but when I was in the middle of the dance floor, it felt so beautiful I almost cried,” says Zsela. “I felt so held and supported by Stud Country. I’m so thankful for the warmth and support they showed us sharing their night with us. And I’m so thankful for Sean and the entire team that made a very chaotic few hours so seamless and fun! It was a very thrilling special experience reminding me how important community is!”

“Filmed in the centre of an active dance party, Stud County, the video explores contrasts—slow motion dancing with real-time performance, movement with stillness,” says director Sean Frank. “We wanted to capture the raw energy of the dance floor—a space where joy, release, and escapism co-exist, and individual narratives meet collective experience.”

KCRW proclaimed Zsela’s debut album as “stunningly one-of-a-kind,” with SPIN adding that she “immerses listeners in her nostalgic, radiant emotional world.” Co-produced by Zsela alongside close collaborators Daniel Aged (Frank Ocean, Kelela) and Gabe Wax (The War On Drugs, Soccer Mommy), Big For You builds on the sonic world established by her 2020 EP Ache of Victory, which The New York Times called “at once earthy and otherworldly.”

Since its release in June 2024, the album has earned praise from the likes of The ObserverPAPERDAZEDInterviewAssociated PressSPINThe FADERThe Line of Best FitClash, and Wonderland, with The New York Times selecting Zsela’s standout single “Fire Excape” as one of their 40 best songs of 2024 (so far).
