Telescreens by Anna Cappello

(October 4, 2024) - Today, New York City’s Telescreens releases their highly-anticipated full-length album 7 via Victor Victor. Since first emerging on the scene in 2020 with their project The Return the band has become something of an anomaly, a rare case of a band who has come of age and found a fanbase largely without the help of the internet. Now an emerging force in the powerful resurgence of New York’s rock scene, Telescreens cut their teeth on the streets of the city, in backyard shows, and sweaty basements where word of mouth reigned supreme.
7 is the culmination of the band’s evolution, capturing the essence of their electrifying live performances where Telescreens have built a formidable reputation as the city’s best kept secret. Their rapid ascendancy saw them graduate from intimate venues like Arlene’s Grocery and Baby’s All Right to the big stage at New York’s Governor’s Ball music festival, and most recently, the band sold out Irving Plaza a few short weeks ago. This fall, they head back out on the road once again with Marc E. Bassy but first they take the stage at Austin City Limits tomorrow.
At this point, it’s fair to say the band has already cemented their status as “an act that needs to be seen live” while earning fans like Juliette Lewis and former Saint Laurent and CELINE creative director Hedi Slimane, as well as media coverage from the likes of Lyrical Lemonade, V Magazine, and PAPER Magazine along the way.
Listen to 7 above, find touring details below, and stay tuned for more Telescreens coming soon.
