(January 11, 2024) - To kick off the new year, CDMX and Hermosillo, Mexico-based experimental trio Meth Math shares their new single "Cyberia." Paired with the new song is the harlequin video directed by Samantha R featuring vocalist Ángel Ballesteros' unparalleled styling as she attends telenovela therapy and dances in technicolor with a crew of ravers, furries, and aliens. "Cyberia" marks the latest early taste of Meth Math's forthcoming debut album Chupetones due February 2nd via In Real Life. The album, co-mixed and produced by Nick León (Rosalia, Denzel Curry, Isabella Lovestory), also includes previously-released singles "Mantis," and "Myspace," which was highlighted as one of The FADER's Songs You Need In Your Life upon release and arrived with a video directed by Antonella Dellarossa & José Ramón Sahagún.

Speaking about "Cyberia," Meth Math shares, "'Cyberia' tells the story of an angel who had to go through the ordeal of living the human experience, stranded in an extraneous dimension. It's a song that takes its inspiration from a divine being's sweat and grief. The song hypothesizes around the narrative of a celestial messenger that was forced to temporarily take the shape of a mortal, in a world where others see them as a patient with schizophrenia. An imposed and transitory transpatial journey from paradise to the mundane assortment of physical needs."

Additionally, Meth Math will be performing a string of headline shows in the United States slated for this April. The 7-date tour will begin in Seattle on April 2nd with stops in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Brooklyn before wrapping up in Washington, D.C. on April 13th. Full tour routing and ticket details can be found below.

Chupetones has been highlighted in them. and Stereogum's highly-anticipated 2024 albums lists to start the year, crystalizing the tangible excitement for a full-length project from the trio. The album cements Meth Math's lead amongst this boundless new generation of Latin artists and builds on the dichotomy the Mexican trio has always existed in: a gothic party that plays between the sacred and the profane, between neo-perreo and new-age emo. The nine songs that make up this new collection are at once odes to heartbreak and invitations to the deep darkness of a post-apocalyptic club.

Created with a freeform mentality that focused on capturing the essence of the moment rather than preconceived intention, the trio each brought quirky stories and new inspirations to the drawing board in recording sessions across Hermosillo and Mexico City. The result is a collective embodiment of the three of them and the raucous, dream-like party that only they could dream up with the help of collaborators like Nick León, Daniela Lalita and ZAH.

Since the release of their Pompi EP in 2020 and m♡rtal EP in 2022, Meth Math has paved their own lane of shadowy and experimental reggaeton and electronica. Comprised of the aforementioned vocalist Ángel Ballesteros and the producers Error.Error and Bonsai Babies, Meth Math has established an aesthetic all their own and collaborated with electronic contemporaries like Sega Bodega, Machine Girl, Dinamarca, Blue Rojo and more. Last year, Meth Math performed at the iconic Boiler Room: New York City, which was curated by Shayne Oliver (Anonymous Club, Hood By Air), alongside Bladee, Ecco2k, and Baby Sosa, in addition to making their Mexican festival debut at Ceremonia.
