Minneapolis hip-hop pioneers Atmosphere have announced today that they are ending their Tour De Friends run with two Minnesota dates, their first hometown performances since the release of their new album So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously. You’ll be able to digest your turkey and stuffing with them on both November 24th at Minneapolis’ First Avenue and November 25th at Saint Paul’s Palace Theatre. The duo have not performed at First Avenue since early last year, or at Palace Theatre since 2020. They’ve also announced that they’ll be joined by HEBL & NOFUN! on the full run of Tour De Friends headline dates. The duo released their newest album So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously via Rhymesayers Entertainment. There's an unmistakable sense of unease from the outset that continues to evolve throughout the record, an almost unnerving excavation of paranoia inspired by the general malaise of a pandemic weary society full of civil unrest. The tension in these songs is palpable, but the album’s mere presence is a testament to the hope that has to underpin even the most stressed out epiphanies. On the new album, rapper Slug says “we made a new album where we addressed a bunch of items we found in stacks of moving boxes that had become furniture. written and recorded over the duration of 2020 distancing / paranoia of 2021. Mixed and mastered during stolen moments of 2022.”

Atmosphere also released for the first time ever Sad Clown Bad Dub 2. The Sad Clown Bad Dub series first started as a string of limited cassette tapes and CD-R's for Atmosphere to sell exclusively on tour. Since its inception in 1999, the Sad Clown series has seen over a dozen iterations in numerous formats, including rare 4-track demos, live recordings, a DVD of behind-the-scenes tour footage, a mixtape, 7” vinyl singles and more.
