Following a successful year on tour across the globe, country artist and songwriter Orville Peck returns to the road this April in North America with an intimate headline tour. The tour kicks off on April 10 in Knoxville, TN at The Mill & Mine and canvasses the Southeast and Midwest before closing out April 20 in Birmingham, AL at Iron City. He continues to tour in support of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, Bronco, available now. Bronco kicked up dust throughout 2022, generating positive support from critics and fans alike. Pitchfork attested, “The masked cult figure adopts the widescreen scale of mainstream country while stretching his eccentrities to their limits,” and NME rated it “4-out-of-5 stars.” In a “9-out-of-10” review, The Line of Best Fit declared, “Orville Peck continues his winning streak with Bronco.” This incredible run impressively culminated with a nomination for Outstanding Music Artist at the 2023 GLAAD Media Awards.
Orville, who has long expressed his love of film, television and theatre, is also moving into the television space with a co-hosting role. He has joined his friends and fellow country stars Jimmie Allen and Mickey Guyton for the new music competition series, “My Kind of Country,” as a scout searching the globe to find talented artists and break the next big country star. Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves are featured in the series, set to premiere globally on March 24 on Apple TV+.
“My Kind of Country” is a fresh take on a competition series, breaking down barriers in country music by providing an extraordinary opportunity to diverse and innovative artists from around the world. Scouts Allen, Guyton and Peck each hand-pick a roster of exceptional up-and-coming artists and invite them to the home of country music in Nashville, Tennessee, to showcase their unique sound. The competition winner will receive a life-changing prize from Apple Music, receiving unprecedented support and exposure on the platform.
One of the most fascinating acts in country music, Orville spent most of 2021 & 2022 on the road with an extensive tour across the US and festival performances including but not limited to Lollapalooza and Governor’s Ball. He also supported Harry Styles at Madison Square Garden, was the face of Beyonce’s Ivy Park Rodeo collection, appeared in a Dior campaign, performed on Miley Cyrus Presents: Stand by You PRIDE special for NBC’s Peacock, covered Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” for her reimagined album, starred in an episode of Netflix’s This Is Pop, and had a massive sync in a pivotal scene in the season two premiere of HBO’s Euphoria. |
