The song and video show a rebellious Zouaï owning her freedom without constraint, fading in and out of reality during a romantic night on the run. PLAYGIRL has garnered press praise from Billboard, Rolling Stone, Uproxx, Office Mag, and more and boasts previously released tracks “pl4yg1rl,” “Blur,” and “Give Me A Kiss”. The album takes a look into the multifaceted worlds of three Playgirls: pl4yg1rl, dreamgirl, and partygirl that capture Lolo’s full personality and allows her to blend y2k internet fantasy, R&B, hyper-pop and 2000’s hip hop.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview Lolo breaks down her favorites from PLAYGIRL including CSDG and says “I didn’t overthink the lyric. ‘They never want to keep it open. Take every part of me.’ Because in relationships, I’m always like, ‘Can we just keep this open?’ But guys want to like, have you. It’s the manic pixie dream girl, but my version of it”.
