London based multi-instrumentalist producer Emma-Jean Thackray shares a new collaboration today with the New York rapper Wiki - a remix of ‘Golden Green’ - the original version appeared on Emma’s debut album Yellow.

Both artists have been nominated for an A2IM Libera Award this year, under the ‘Best Self-Released Record Of The Year’ category, and it follows their own respective acclaimed album campaigns and international touring. Wiki recently toured the US with Navy Blue, performed a sold out London show and is back on tour with Ice Age across North America. Emma recently performed at BBC 6 Music festival, and a series of headline sold out shows across the UK including EartH in London (650 cap), and is currently doing a run of European shows. Emma also did her first Netflix score with ERAX earlier this year, a short film written and directed by Hebru Brantley.

Emma-Jean Thackray on the remix: “We made something really special, as Wiki painted such an intimate picture of a moment at home with a lover. You can smell the cup of hot tea he describes. You can feel the sheets on your skin. I felt the warmth of the sun coming in through a gap in the blinds. The choruses he brought to the song are so perfect, because Golden Green is actually about how I met my partner. It’s about those first moments together and the things about them that stick out and become entwined in your memory of them forever.”

2021 saw the release of Thackray’s highly anticipated debut album Yellow that came out via her own label Movementt, Yellow debuted #1 on Jazz & Blues Chart, remaining top for 6 weeks and charted Top 75 on the Official Album Charts. Thackray was named the winner of UK Jazz Act of the Year (Jazz FM Awards), nominated for Best Jazz Act at this year’s MOBO Awards and Gilles Peterson crowned ‘Yellow’ his 6Music Album of The Year. Following her own sold-out UK / EU headline tour, Emma-Jean Thackray has been confirmed for this year’s Glastonbury and End Of The Road. Full list of new and rescheduled dates below.
