‘Wasteland’ is the title track Laura Lee & the Jettes debut album, which was released last December. Out today, the video was shot by Stefanie Rincon at Berlin’s legendary 8MM Bar, and features a guest appearance and poem from Art Brut's Eddie Argos, and a cameo from German actor Willy Gonzalez (Lords Of Chaos).

Half of the iconic German indie punk duoGurr, Lee debut was heavily influenced by the US and UK 90’s alternative rock bands she grew up listening to, who were themselves influenced by the infamous Krautrock era in German music - Sonic Youth and Stereolab etc. 

 

Hailing from the German North West city of Oldenberg, Lee and moved to Berlin in her early 20’s. She spent time studying in US where she met Andreya Casablanca, and the tow weren’t on to form Gurr. The pairs debut album went on to win IMPALA’s ‘European Album of the Year’ award in 2018. After touring relentlessly until the pandemic hit, the paid took time out to concentrate on their own projects.
