Today, Detroit’s Jax Anderson (FKA Flint Eastwood) continues her streak of featured releases from her upcoming album, Songs For Every Condition, which will come out this fall, on October 8th on Neon Gold Records (Haim, Marina, Matt Maeson, The Knocks etc). For the ANGST condition, she releases this “Tender” song featuring longterm friend Yoke Lore and the music video HERE.

This is the 2nd collaboration of Yoke Lore and Jax Anderson, the first song "Sensitive Heart" has gathered over 4 million streams to date.

Jax explains: "tender is about learning to view vulnerability as a superpower because it is. It’s about how softness can oftentimes be viewed as weak, but really it takes so much strength to allow yourself to be soft. I wrote this track with Adrian while overlooking the Detroit skyline & it’s one of my favorite songs from the upcoming record: Songs For Every Condition".

Yoke Lore says: "Tender is a song about uncertainty in the face of lies we've all been led to believe in. One of the first lies we're told is that uncertainty is a bad thing, that confusion is chaos and that chaos is a bad state to inhabit. But I think as we all grow and develop personal truths of our own, we learn that the absolutes that we were fed aren't so absolute. Chaos can be a beautiful thing. Uncertainty can be the root of exploration and discovery, and that confusion is the seed of insight and the ability to find good questions in the world. The primacy of strength is another myth that we all must debunk for ourselves at one point or another. Sooner or later we are faced with the fallibility of muscle. It behooves us to find another way to interact with our struggle. To adapt, embrace, to change is to move beyond the fight. How can you be happy or healthy or go to nice dinners or out with your friends if you're busy fighting for your life all the time? Try a little tenderness. Be gracious with yourself, gentle on your hard parts. This song is about sloughing off the old truths that don't serve us any longer so that we can all become the vanguard of a new consciousness that throws away prejudice and strong-man politics and the frantic cold-war era mindset of American freedom. We can decide our own future. And in that future, I think Jax and I would like to set up a different conception of ideas like tenderness and explore how they can be more fundamentally incorporated into our daily lives. Because we all need tenderness like we need air and water. Let's not be so stingy.“

About the upcoming concept album, Jax explains: “Life happens in ways that are unpredictable & beautiful & everything/nothing all at once. There are so many moments to notice & feelings to cherish. A moment that happens when you're happy, may feel different when your condition changes to sad or excited or healing or heartbroken or joyful. Life changes constantly - to me the soundtrack of life feels more like a playlist than an album. Songs For Every Condition was inspired by the different conditions of life. I didn't force myself into a certain soundscape or to stick to a certain genre, but instead allowed the music to be inspired by the different conditions I was in at the time. What came out was a wonderful variety of honest songs.”

Jax Anderson, who changed from her Flint Eastwood moniker to her real name, has built a reputation for writing alt-pop anthems that boldly speak to overcoming the forces in the world that try and keep us from loving ourselves and actualizing our full potential. She recently released the track “Bigger Picture” features VÉRITÉ and includes the Jax-directed music video HERE, the song is paired with B-side, “Say I Do” from the HAPPY condition, as well as “I Don’t Care Anymore” with K.Flay HERE, with the accompanying music video HERE. Learn more about Jax in Paper Magazine HERE and in Clash HERE. She has had two US headlining tours as well as national tours supporting Bishop Briggs, Miya Folick, PVRIS, Misterwives, & Poppy. In addition, she has toured Europe and Australia supporting Foster The People and Sigrid, and played festivals around the world including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Summerfest, Falls Fest, Les Escales, and more.

About Yoke Lore: “A ‘yoke’ is something that holds things together. ‘Lore’ means a set of stories or a collection of ideas about an event, time, or culture,” explains Adrian Galvin, when asked about the meaning behind his musical moniker Yoke Lore. New York indie pop project Yoke Lore is the solo musical venture of Adrian Galvin, previously of Yellerkin and Walk the Moon. Galvin’s songs combine echoing waves of banjo, vocals, and percussion to create arresting pop music with tactile candor and conviction. Galvin continues, “I want to tell stories about how memories, relationships, apprehensions, and big dreams hold us together. I think that exploring universal experiences both emotional and spiritual are best conveyed through the potency of personal stories. And music wields a power to render the very personal, epic.” Galvin grew up in an artistic family, his mother a director and his father an actor and sculptor. He was immersed in painting, photography, and ballet from an early age, eventually finding his first musical passion in the drums. While pursuing music, his artistry in other disciplines has not faltered, even lending his own designs to all of his music’s cover art, as well as choreographing & dancing for some of his music videos. In between putting out four acclaimed EPs — Far Shore (2016), Goodpain (2017), Absolutes (2018), and Meditations (2019) — Galvin tours non-stop, playing shows and festivals spanning North America and Europe.
