"Liily have a dynamic that is all their own, matching angular songwriting to sheer relentless desire."
- CLASH
Liily, the alternative rock band from Los Angeles, share their latest track "Wash" today. The first new music released since their debut EP I Can Fool Anybody in This Town, "Wash" is a taste of raw energy; wild, angular and percussion-led chaos which rivals that of indie dance hall classics Gang of Four or The Rapture. In the band's own words, "'Wash' is our first attempt at expanding our sound and making something as closely representative of where we are now as possible." Always irreverent, they also shared the following flip remarks:
"'Wash' is the most brutal song since The Bloodhound Gang's 'The Bad Touch'"
"'Wash' will scrub you clean of your ignorant behavior"
"'Wash' predicts a 2020 mega quake"
"Epic."
The "Wash" music video is a stop-motion film created and co-directed by guitarist Sam De La Torre and director DL Guerra. This visual collision of car chases and supernatural creatures follows action figure versions of the band careening through Los Angeles.
Liily just set off on their Fall tour with Bad Suns on September 7. This summer they played their first ever UK and EU tour dates around Brighton UK's The Great Escape, opened for Weezer in Hamburg, with US festival sets at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Shaky Knees.
