This year marks 15 years of The Rapture’s third album, In The Grace Of Your Love. It was the band’s return to DFA after years in the major label wild(er)ness and was made in partnership with the great and sadly missed French producer Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Beastie Boys, Cat Power, and his own group, Cassius).
It was a big one - “How Deep Is Your Love?” remains their most-streamed song - but in recent years, the album’s closer “It Takes Time to Be a Man,” which pulls from gospel and 90s boom-bap and the wary optimism of grown-ass life to surprising effect, has been the one for us. Life comes at you fast?

A few relevant things given the above:
The new season of Netflix’s BEEF features “It Takes Time to Be a Man” in the final moments of Episode 6 (subtitle crew see above) and there are many other great songs and references across the season for those interested in the DFA multiverse.
We are repressing In The Grace Of Your Love for the first time since its initial pressing. It hits shops May 8. You can also pre-order it directly from us.
We recently re-published a FADER cover story (magazines!) from 2011 that offers a much more vividly-written view into that period of the band’s history. Read it here.
