Big Blue sees the band stripping back their textural, noisy guitars to reveal vibrant acoustics and scintillating synths. The second track of the record, “Transducer,” arrived with the album’s announcement and an official music video, showcasing a meticulous arrangement of drum machines and brightly toned guitars. The video features the band completely in the LA darkness, only seen under an abrasive spotlight and dimly lit flashlights.

2070 have always experimented with their sound. Mixing blown-out riffs with ethereal tones, layering synths and playing with ambient textures, the four-piece blows past pre-conceived notions of what a rock record should sound like. Big Blue was made over long recording sessions, pushing soft noises and spacious beats to the forefront, and diligently creating thoughtful melodies and lyricism.
Infamous in the LA DIY scene, 2070 is a fixture of the community. Playing shows with bands like Host Family, Hysteria, Drook, and more, the band has become known for both four-piece rock shows and stunning ambient sets. More shows will be announced soon.
