Ottawa-Hull-based indie-rock band Pony Girl are masters of art pop, invigorating stages with a prismatic sound that’s all their own. After last year's release of their debut LP with Paper Bag Records (and third LP in general), Enny One Wil Love You, now, Pony Girl is sharing another new record, Laff It Off, on 10/27 via Paper Bag Records.
Today, Pony Girl shares the second cut off their forthcoming LP, "I Believe In Nothing." This new track follows the release of the record's first single and title track, "Laff It Off."
As the band wrote of their newest single: "Everything is absurd and meaningless, but that’s a positive. 'I Believe In Nothing' is a mantra for detachment, for releasing yourself of strong emotions, for taking control of your life. We hear that sense of freedom as careening guitars, synths rising, distortion and all. You can’t help but feel exaltation."
Recipients of the Prix FEQ Emerging Artist Award in 2016 for their 'high level of innovation and musicality…exceptional performance quality and on-stage presence' as well as two Capital Music Awards wins for their 2022 album, Pony Girl has seen consistent praise from various media for their 'evocative soundscapes' (CBC Radio), their 'ability to push the boundaries that define pop-rock' (Mixtape Magazine), and a 'musical depth quite astonishing to experience' (Exclaim!).
Stay tuned for Pony Girl's forthcoming album Laff It Off, out 10/27 via Paper Bag Records. |
