"This track, along with its accompanying visuals, strike all the right chords for me." - PopWrapped [on "Same Flame"] November 11, 2021 - NYC-based, art-rock auteur Brion Starr will be releasing his highly-anticipated new album A Night to Remember on November 19th, but today, he’s sharing the final single from the album, “ The Butler.” The song and video serve as a finale of sorts to the epic odyssey of music videos for the album’s titular “night to remember.” Speaking on the album’s concept, Starr writes the album “ ...is a reflection on American sentimentality. The entire record is a film which takes place in one night.” Produced by the legendary sonic mastermind Tony Visconti ( David Bowie, T. Rex, Sparks), A Night to Remember is Brion Starr evolving, discovering a new sound, a new way of writing and working with his favorite producer of all time. The music video for “ The Butler” was directed by Nick Ventura and stars Cici Von Massen & Clara Cecile. Glide Magazine premiered the clip earlier this week, writing: "... 'the dark, glam rock song channels 'Low '-era David Bowie." It follows on the heels of recently-released videos for LP standouts “ Nocturne,” “ Same Flame (Stay With Me),” “ Morning Light” and the album’s titular track. The album is set for release on November 19th via Taxi Gauche Records, and will be available as a 12” gatefold vinyl, CD, cassette and digitally. Pre-order and pre-save the album HERE. Speaking on the recording of “ The Butler,” Starr writes: “ This was the first song we finished for this album, or at least I thought it was finished. Tony pushed me in the studio to add a lower 5th vocal for portions of this and I am really glad he did, I didn't hear it at first but when it clicked the whole song stuck together as if someone had vacuum-sealed it.” |
