Capri-Revolution (2018, dir: Mario Martone), made with frequent collaborator Philipp Thimm.
Capri-Revolution was awarded Best Soundtrack at the 75
th Venice Film Festival (2018), Best Soundtrack by The Academy of Italian Cinema at the David di Donatello Awards (2019), and Best Score at the 2019 Bari International Film Festival. The film itself features Ring and Thimm in cameo roles.
Dämonen is the soundtrack to Apparat’s second collaboration with influential German theatre director Sebastian Hartmann (their first,
Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre) was released by Mute in 2013). Written with Thimm and Christoph Hamann, the soundtrack is based on Hartmann’s theatrical production of Dostoevsky’s
Demons, and was re-recorded and arranged for stand-alone release.
Equals Sessions collates music from
Equals (2015, dir: Drake Doremus), winner of the Soundtrack Stars Award at the 72
nd Venice Film Festival (2015). This new presentation sees parts of the score (the full film score was originally written by Ring, Nackt and Dustin O’Halloran), re-arranged, re-recorded and updated by Ring and Philipp Thimm in 2020.
Stay Still – again written with Philipp Thimm – is the soundtrack to Elisa Mishto’s debut feature film,
Stay Still (2019). The soundtrack includes an alternate version of
“Bad Kingdom,” originally recorded by Moderat (Ring with Sebastian Szary and Gernot Bronsert of Modeselektor). Watch the video for “Bad Kingdom (Lulu’s Version)”

Apparat’s most recent album,
LP5 (2019), was GRAMMY nominated and his previous solo release,
Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre), continued his ongoing work as a composer for theatre, film and television. In recent years, his music has been used as the theme song for the
Dark TV series (
“Goodbye,” from
The Devil’s Walk) and featured in
Breaking Bad,
Nikita, and many more productions.
