This Friday will see the general release of the praised and highly life-affirming documentary ‘Efterklang: The Makedonium Band’.
After being well received at film festivals such as CPH:DOX, Docs Against Gravity, DOK.fest, In-Edit, CineDays, Oslo Pix, OddFest, Dokufest, DORF, and more, the film will finally be available for general viewing this Friday, November 21st, via Vimeo-OnDemand. The film sees the band head to North Macedonia with a bold dream: to form a band with strangers and, in just one week, create something truly extraordinary. What begins as a spontaneous idea soon turns into an audacious musical experiment. Without a proper plan but high on curiosity, Efterklang sets out to find local musicians they’ve never met and, together, stage a concert in front of the breathtaking Makedonium monument – a soaring symbol of freedom and resistance. Guided by their longtime Macedonian friend Grga, the journey takes them from the bustling streets of Skopje to remote mountain villages, and all the way to the political top, in search of kindred spirits and new sounds. What unfolds is a warm, chaotic, and deeply human story of creativity and connection. A testament to the unifying power of music. Directed by Andreas Johnsen, this adventurous and heart-opening documentary celebrates courage, curiosity, and the magic that happens when strangers come together to make something beautiful. ‘The Makedonium Band’ documentary will be available to watch here: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/efterklangdoc Watch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrjQfsH5Yo0 |
