Miki Berenyi Trio will release their debut album Tripla this Friday, April 4 via Bella Union. The collection has already earned acclaim spanning StereogumUnder The RadarSPINBrooklynVeganFLOOD, Hearing Things, Talkhouse, American Songwriter, NPR “Into Music”, The Guardian, Uncut, MOJO and more. Today they share final album cut “Kinch” alongside an official video and announced a North American fall tourTickets on sale this Friday. The song brings to life the happy/sad stabs sometimes felt when Miki catches a glimpse of her dad, or Chris (Acland, Lush drummer who died in 1996) in the patchwork of framed photos on their hallway wall. Miki shares, “The lyrics are inspired by love and loss, and how those people never leave you, and how it makes you think about the nature of love.”

Tripla’s richly layered, imaginative and uniquely slanted strain of dream pop is an often euphoric and sometimes melancholic mix of guitars and electronica, fronted by Miki’s instantly recognisable vocal, overlaid with an often profound and sometimes abrasive or yearning view of the world. From lashing out against macho aggression unleashed by social media types such as Andrew Tate to commenting on human self destruction spanning social intolerance to sexism to environmental issues, the shoegaze pioneers continue their politically-charged legacy with the new collection.

Miki Berenyi Trio, or MB3 for short, is named after its lead singer – a direct way to convey the presence of the former singer/co-guitarist of Lush, and one of the most instantly recognisable faces of the ‘90s - but the songwriting is entirely a three-way collaboration by Miki Berenyi, KJ ‘Moose’ McKillop and Oliver Cherer, as the album title describes: acknowledging the mother tongue of Miki’s father, Tripla is Hungarian for ‘triple’.

Tripla is completed by a superb mix by Paul Gregory (of Bella Union labelmates Lanterns On The Lake) and beautiful artwork by Chris Bigg – who designed the sleeves for Piroshka and contributed to all of Lush’s sleeves – incorporating photography from Martin Andersen. But for all the album’s heightened and sophisticated sound, MB3 have gone back to basics, not only recording at home but driving a car packed with their gear, loading in and out of venues themselves. “There is something very ‘grass roots’ about what we’re doing,” says Miki.  “There’s no point following the ‘announce the album, then tour, then record the next album’ route – we just want to wring as much enjoyment out of this as we can, and hope that it resonates somewhere!”

WAVVES ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM SPUN DUE OUT JUNE 6 VIA GHOST RAMP

(March 31, 2025) - Wavves recently made a long-awaited return with their first new music since 2021, news of a newly launched Cannabis brand Wavvy Supply Co., and a Los Angeles County wildfire benefit show at Zebulon earlier in the month.

Now the band returns to announce their new album Spun, extensive North American tour dates, and share new single “Goner.” The Travis-Barker produced song arrives alongside a Brandon Dermer-directed music video filmed at Wavves’ recent Zebulon charity show. Dermer has previously directed Wavves’ 2013 video for “That’s On Me” and has directed videos for Blink-182 amongst others. Speaking about how the track came together with Travis, Williams shares:

“I had this song I had been sitting on, always revisited it and tried to record it a bunch of times but it was never just right. Eventually it was giving me PTSD. I was talking to Travis about doing some songs together and when I opened up the vault to him, this one jumped out so we laid it down and finally we got it right.”

“Goner” and the previously released “So Long,” will feature on the band’s forthcoming album, Spun, due out June 6th with a headline North American tour set to launch later that month with supporting acts from Beach Goons and additional support from DEath Leans and Chokecherry on selct dates. Like Nathan Williams’ earliest music, this album first took shape in a small shed behind his parents’ house known as the hideaway. It's the place where Williams made some of his earliest albums, before he became known for his uncanny ability to write songs that sneered at the world while evoking pathos, sympathy, and a deep understanding of how sometimes we’re our own worst enemies, and that can be okay.

Over a decade prior to this, Williams released King of the Beach an album that delivered on all of the promise that his first two homespun records Wavves and Wavvves captured. It’s an album that also catapulted the band to worldwide acclaim as one of the new darlings of indie rock. It was a cocky collection of pop-punk gems that brought fame so rapidly it also, in part, led to a widely publicized on stage meltdown at Primavera Fest. Wavves recovered, as they always do, and eventually entered the major label system, where the band released two albums before Williams became disillusioned by the lack of creative agency available to him. In 2017, Williams self-released You’re Welcome on his label, Ghost Ramp before returning to Fat Possum (the home of his first three albums) for Hideaway

Fast forward to 2024, an older, wiser, and slightly less stoned Williams has again reunited with longtime bandmates Stephen Pope, Ross Traver, and Alex Gates for a new full-length Wavves album. Always known for their raucous live performances, Wavves fans can rest assured that 2025 will deliver on the last few years of relative quiet with new music and a massive North American tour on the way.

For the first time ever, Ministry has an official music video for the eternal hit, “Everyday is Halloween.” Originally released in 1984, Al Jourgensen’s rally cry for the goth community and misunderstood creatures of the night has remained a cult classic over the decades and is finally being given the visual treatment it deserves.

See the video for “Everyday is Halloween” HERE.

Says Jourgensen, “I’m amazed and honored that folks are still listening to this song 40 years on. Fly that freak flag proudly.”

“Everyday is Halloween” is one of the cuts on the forthcoming album, The Squirrely Years Revisited, out now via Cleopatra Records that sees Jourgensen making peace with the past. After the incredible reception to Ministry’s With Sympathy and Twitch-heavy set at Cruel World 2024, Jourgensen decided it was time to reexamine his long-dormant synth pop hits and give them a fresh polish 40 years later.

Featuring 9 tracks (3 additional bonus tracks on CD), The Squirrely Years Revisited offers reworked versions of not only “Everyday Is Halloween,” but also “Work For Love,” “I’m Not An Effigy,” and “I’ll Do Anything For You.”

The Squirrely Years Revisited follows the release of Ministry’s 16th studio album in 2024, HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES, and comes ahead of the final new studio album from Ministry in 2026, a record that has Jourgensen teaming up with Paul Barker once again.
The Squirrely Years Revisited will be available in all formats including digital, CD and 4 different vinyl configurations. The full track list includes:

1. Work For Love
2. Here We Go

ABOUT MINISTRY
Born in 1981 in Chicago, Ministry has been the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen, considered to be the pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, Ministry was identifiable by its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technology that were being developed in the ‘80s. Ministry’s output began with four 12” singles on Wax Trax! Records in 1981 before the first LP With Sympathy in 1983 via Arista Records. As time progressed however, so did Ministry, quickly developing a harsher, and more stylized sound that the band soon became infamous for on seminal albums Twitch (1986), The Land of Rape and Honey (1988), and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989). With the release of Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and The Way to Suck Eggs (1992), Ministry hit an all-time high in the mainstream musical realm and received its first Grammy nomination. In total, Ministry has been nominated for a Grammy award six times. Eight more albums would follow before an indefinite break in 2013, only to be unearthed again in 2018 with AmeriKKKant, continuing to reflect Jourgensen’s views on the frightening state of society and politics. The 2021 album Moral Hygiene marked a new creative era of Jourgensen and the band. Ministry’s 16th studio album, HOPIUMFORTHEMASSESwas released March 1, 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records.
