Today, LA rocker Kit Major is sharing her newest EP, Love.Sick.Major. Featuring her hit "I Wish U Didn't Hate Me So Much" and the infectiously fun lead single "Garbage Planet", the EP blends post-punk energy, psychedelic guitar riffs, and playful self-references. With Love.Sick.Major, Kit Major reinvents classic rock with a fresh edge. Channeling the rebellious spirit of CBGB's legendary scene, her sound calls to mind icons like Blondie and New York Dolls.
Alongside the release of the full EP, Kit is highlighting the fast, feral, and fuzzy punk track, "Potion Seller." Laced with a touch of rockabilly energy, "Potion Seller" is a song about wanting to feel better in your own skin. With lyrics such as, “I want to stop my weeping wallow, I want to be the best,” and “And I tell you I’ll be careful, but I'm lying through my teeth,” the track explores feelings of hopelessness concealed by a defiant promise to do whatever it takes to get a quick fix. "It’s got this frantic, raw energy of someone constantly returning, desperate, saying, "Make me better!"," Kit explains. Throughout Love.Sick.Major, listeners can expect more of Kit’s radical self awareness in her lyrics and memorable hooks as each track presents its own sound, while maintaining the EP’s themes of vulnerability, self awareness, and the experience of desperate longing. "Love.Sick.Major is a world I’ve imagined, romanticizing a time I never lived in,” says Kit. "It blends the grit of 90s alt-rock with the whimsy of Britpop and the rawness of early punk. In a way, it's one giant sonic mood board. Each track has its own distinct vibe, fashion, and mood.” Kit Major's newest EP, Love.Sick.Major, is out now on all DSPs.
