Photo credit: Louise Mason Today London-based multidisciplinary artist Clara Mann unveils her new single/video "Stadiums", which is out now via state51. Mann is also set tour across Europe later this year supporting Christian Lee Hutson.
On the new track, Clara Mann offered "'Stadiums' is about running towards someone who’s running towards something else. Loving someone whose passion, whose driving force, is creative (in this case music) is like having a third person in the relationship. Someone’s creative brilliance is a beautiful, powerful, mysterious thing in them, often the thing that is most magical and attractive about them, and the thing that, in the end, is always pulling them just out of reach.
It’s ‘I want you, you want This’, and in writing it I was forced to ask myself ‘what does it mean if I’m a person who wants that, like you are - is it hard to love me, too?'"

Mann’s music reflects the people and places that have shaped and held her—physically, emotionally, and creatively. Raised in the Lot Valley in rural France before moving to the UK for her teens, these formative years provided her with a deep sense of belonging, identity, and growth.
Influenced by artists like Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Judee Sill, and Tom Waits, Mann has a deep love and care for songwriting. Her lyrics are vivid and visceral, and her approach to songwriting is not one of purging emotions but rather of composting them—digesting life’s experiences and cultivating them into something meaningful, tangible, hopeful. She is also a talented visual artist, and this often plays an integral role in her songwriting process. Using the intricate and sweeping motion of illustrating with ink, charcoal, and sometimes watercolour, she can evoke thoughts and poetry onto the page, offering a way of making sense of things and to communicate in a way that words alone cannot.
New single "Stadiums" follows on from two EPs, Consolations in 2019 and Stay Open in 2022 as well as tour support for Bill Ryder-Jones, Bat for Lashes, Daniel Rossen (Grizzly Bear) and Skullcrusher and is the first glimpse of what is to come next from this exciting emerging artist.
