New York City’s very own five-piece DIY ensemble, Monobloc, continues their winning streak today with their latest single “Irish Goodbye.” Adding to their quickly evolving discography, today’s release explores the social stresses of being young in a new city, while embodying post-punk complexity and charisma. Brief but incredibly intricate and complete with a flute solo, “Irish Goodbye” is a driving track that hears the band reaching new sonic heights while maintaining Monobloc’s signature New York charm. The official video for the track also premieres today, which was shot in New York City and self-directed by the band.

“In the fall of 2022, I was religiously watching this live video of Eric Burdon and War performing Spill The Wine,” said lead vocalist Timothy Waldron. “I was new to the city and still finding my crowd, ducking and dodging strong characters at every turn. I was in too deep with my odd jobs. I was falling in and out of love with it all. This song slipped out.”
Reaffirming their unique talent and the success of their first two singles, “Where is My Garden” and “I’m Just Trying To Love You,” Monobloc pushes the envelope with forward-thinking guitar arrangements and endlessly catchy melodic rock. The debut songs were lauded by press globally, earning nods from NME, Paste Magazine, Rolling Stone UK, DIY and a cover story with Dork. With more music on the way and the attention of international tastemakers, Monobloc continues a monumental 2024. |
