October 26, 2023 - Today, British breakout band The Wandering Hearts, who have gained fans across the US for their transatlantic blend of classic pop and folk, released their newest single, “Still Waters.” The music video was premiered by Bluegrass Situation, watch the music video HERE and read the feature HERE.

“Still Waters” is the third single from the band in 2023, who previously released “About America” and “Not Misunderstood.” The band is gearing up for more music next year.

In “Still Waters,” a soft vocal line ripples over a steady beat, while piano bookends the vulnerable refrain. Tranquil and emotionally turbulent all at once, “Still Waters” carries The Wandering Hearts’ signature folk sensibilities with silky instrumentations.

On “Still Waters,” Chess Whiffin (vocals, mandolin) of The Wandering Hearts stated, “It has a serene feeling of water flowing. You’re living in a world where there’s so much destruction. COVID highlighted the isolation of social media and life at the time. You’re trying to stay afloat, keep your head above water, and breathe. It was born out of the feeling of attempting to navigate difficult times, have the conversations we need to have, and get rid of what we don’t need in our lives.”

The Wandering Hearts teased their next chapter with the release of double singles “Not Misunderstood” and “About America.” On the latter track, bright acoustic guitar and tambourine offset the heavy weight of an intense story: an ode to their adopted sonic home that is the United States, as well as a journey of conquering the metaphorical storms of changing seasons, narrating a timeless tale of loss.

For the latest singles, as well as what’s to come, The Wandering Hearts peeled back the previously subtle pop layer, sanded it down, and stripped the sound to its bare essentials—captivating lyrics, organic instrumentation, and, as always, starkly powerful harmonies. In doing so, they realized their vision at its purest and most powerful. They also found a like minded partner and the perfect home for this body of work in Chrysalis renowned for pioneering British folk rock stars in the 1970s and relaunched itself as a front line label in 2020 working with artists from Laura Marling to Liz Phair.

The band has carefully taken one step at a time to get here. Initially a four-piece, they found their footing and cemented their sound with the core of Tara, Chess, and A.J. on a series of fan favorite albums.  Thus far, they’ve notched back-to-back #1 debuts on the UK Americana Albums Chart with Wild Silence [2018] and The Wandering Hearts [2021]. The latter marked a big turning point for the band, finding an incredible chemistry in the studio. Plus, they have garnered two nominations for “UK Album of the Year” at the UK Americana Awards. Beyond amassing tens of millions of cumulative streams, they enraptured audiences on both sides of the pond with a spellbinding live show. Word spread quickly to the U.S, making its way to the one and only Marty Stuart who invited The Wandering Hearts to play with him at The Ryman, Grand Ole Opry and Graceland.

The Wandering Hearts recently wrapped their latest tour across continents, traveling through America, UK and Ireland, with highlights including various showcases at Americanafest 2023.
