Speaking about the new song, Meth Math elaborates, "'Mantis' is an entomologic symphony that explores the desire and predatorial passion between mantidae. The green memories of the praying, longing for the casual encounter that got lost in yesteryears. The labial palp and sharp mandibles kissing the triangular head that was left without a body. The raptorial legs ready to cling on again onto a torax that wants to escape the ritualistic dance that blurs the line between death and sex. The insects we don’t see in the dark open their antennas, sensorial artifacts that detect the cloud of pheromones that invites them into one last act of pleasure."
Meth Math has paved their own lane of shadowy and experimental reggaeton and electronica. Comprised of vocalist Ángel Ballesteros and the producers Error.Error and Bonsai Babies, Meth Math has established an aesthetic all their own and collaborated with electronic contemporaries like Sega Bodega, Machine Girl, Dinamarca, Blue Rojo and more. Last year, Meth Math performed at the iconic Boiler Room: New York City, which was curated by Shayne Oliver (Anonymous Club, Hood By Air), alongside Bladee, Ecco2k, Denis Sulta, Young M.A, Derrick Carter, Galcher Lustwerk and more.
On the heels of the single's release, Meth Math will be embarking on a run of tour dates in Asia across Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan in November before returning to the US for a live show at Art Basel in Miami alongside celebrated DJ and producer Nick León.
