If you dig the song, you can also PRE-SAVE to be notified upon release!
I wrote Whole Me in the midst of a deep depression. I hadn’t had a low period that bad in probably close to a decade. I lost all sense of purpose. I spent hours of each day just staring at a wall. I had intense dissociation, the kind where you leave your body and look down on yourself. It was compounded by the shame that I thought I had overcome this battle already, but here I was in it again. The song is about realizing you’re not done with the growing pains. There’s always still work to do assembling the pieces of yourself. Whole Me Produced by Alexander Vincent, Anwar Sawyer, & vōx Mixed by Mike Piazza Mastered by Darren Vermaas I worked with an incredible team to create the artwork. It all started with Candy Mntn who I reached out to via IG dm about this vision I had to print a nude photo of myself life size on a piece of sheer fabric. Shortly after, Jessica Kao and I plotted the creative direction together one night over too much limoncello. I brought on film photographer Lucy Sandler, makeup artist Satya Linak, stylist Leonard Murray, & nail artist Studio Aoko. Cameron Rath assisted and made sure everything was documented. The shoot was truly a battle against the elements. It was tough physically and there were moments I wanted to give up, but growth is never easy. In a way, a perfect reflection of the song itself. love, vōx |
