NEW 3-TRACK REMIX EP - OUT NOW ON FOURFOUR RECORDS
LISTEN TO A REMIX FROM MARAL
LATEST ALBUM, MOD PROG SIC - OUT NOW
Black Dice, who recently released their first album in almost a decade, Mod Prog Sic on new label FourFour, have today shared a 3-track remix EP, available on Bandcamp and across the DSPs: https://linktr.ee/fourfourrecords
The new EP features remixes of three album tracks, giving fresh context to the twisted junkyard sounds of Mod Prog Sic.
Maral (Leaving Records) takes on Bad Bet and slows it into a dry chilling post punk dub, accurately soundtracking these end world times. The track also sneakily samples Black Dice song “Rereading” from their 1998 self-titled 7”.
DJ Lycox (Príncipe Records)DJ Lycox is one of the most talented and influential producers in the contemporary urban/club ecosystem. A wonderful mind and graceful spirit, born in Portugal of Angolan descent and currently based in Paris, he is also part of the Tia Maria Produções crew. With his ‘Downward Arrow' remix, Lycox uses his Kuduro club sounds to organize the twisted c haos from the band’s original.
Inner Flight is a new musical combo of Cooper Saver & Chris Macintyre (aka Pop District). Cooper Saver (who has also remixed Eric Copeland on DFA) makes his debut on FourFour, with more to follow. Inner Flight take 'Swinging' into a more mainstream club direction, with swirls of peaktime Weatherall-esque, spaced out ambience pinned to earth with bass lines that circle each other, drop out and return only to double down on the drums. Expertly crafted and a reminder that Black Dice were dabbling in the club world back in 2006 with the classic Luomo remix of ‘Smiling Off’.
