Today, BOYS NOIZE (Alex Ridha, Berlin) and KELSEY LU (Charlotte, NC) share an erotic, ethereal short film accompanied by their track “Love & Validation” (single edit) HERE and directed by legendary filmmaker Diana Kunst, with Mau Morgó. The track is the 2nd collaboration of the pair after releasing “Ride Or Die” feat. Chilly Gonzales, and part of BOYS NOIZE’s much lauded, fifth studio album +/- (pronounced PolarityHERE. The sultry A-side is paired with club focused B-side “Biate,” a brand new techno track from BOYS NOIZE HERE.

Director DIANA KUNST says: “This idea came out from our need to be close to people again, to bond and to feel a community again. After a year of self isolation due to the pandemic and the increasing individualism that we live, for this story, we settled a somehow dystopian near future where individuals live isolated in nature because living in the city is unsustainable due to contamination but they live isolated from each other because humans have lost the quality of socializing.

So when one of them plays Love and Validation with his big speakers in the middle of the forest creates the trigger for what is about to come. Something deep in some of the individuals that lives nearby makes them move irrationally towards that sound that felt so primitive to them, the need to move and dance brings them where Lu is as the entity of that sound and they all start getting together as a tribe, as how it used to be. At the beginning they feel awkward because they've never experienced being close to other individuals but it turns into something really primitive where they have a very deep need of touching and bonding together.

Nature plays a role of a playground of sexual exploration, freedom and liberation. The film is also an invitation to give in to the quiet seduction of flora and erotism.”

Co-director MAU MORGÓ about “Love & Validation”: “Love and Validation” has been the spark that lit a very needed internal fire. After so many months of restrainment we felt the urge of freedom, of reconnecting physically with others through our skins, with nature and specially with the dancefloor. At the beginning solitary souls wander through the forest, and like moths that are attracted by light slowly come together into a cathartic orgy of pleasure through nature.”

KELSEY LU about the filming: “The video for Love & Validation gave us an opportunity to reveal different kinds of deep longing for human connection and physical presence especially within expressions of eroticism.
With the world slowly and awkwardly opening up, we’re still trying to find our way through the woods of isolation towards one another in order to hold and fill these spaces of erotic expressionism.”

BOYS NOIZE about the song: “This song came to life the first time Kelsey Lu and I worked together in person in the studio, and proves the magic of physical proximity and connection for creativity. Coming from different countries and different practices, our collaboration was like a collision of planets - and I don’t think artists like us have ever made a track like this before.  The song has a feel that’s primordial, sexy, and alien, and the short film has this same vibe. The impulse to bring others into this world is also reflected in the choice to have Soulwax mix the track with me - the first time I ever shared this process with someone else.  I hope "Love & Validation" reminds everyone else to reach out and connect after this long period of isolation.”

About BOYS NOIZE:
Few artists find a unique voice and even fewer remain committed to it, but with insatiable ambition, BOYS NOIZE turned principled dedication into an outsize presence among 21st century DJs and electronic musicians. A career punctuated by audacious cross-genre exploration has earned him an enviable fluidity of practice across borders and scenes, yet his definitive fingerprints are present on every creation. An underground hero with mainstream appeal and acid-dripped, techno-punk sensibilities, he jumpstarts crowds from Berghain to Coachella. In 2021, BOYS NOIZE’s fascination with traversing dualities hits a new apex on his fifth studio album +/-.

The collective volume and diversity of BOYS NOIZE has put him in high demand among artists seeking his proprietary sonic techniques and peerless production. Berlin’s world-renowned subterranean culture acts as a beacon for international stars who are willing to probe the margins for the innovative and unusual, and it is BOYS NOIZE´s studio where their fresh inspirations are transmuted into even fresher music with his expertise. Over the years, working relationships have flourished and production credits multiplied, including with such luminaries as LADY GAGA, FRANK OCEAN, A$AP ROCKY, BON IVER, MARK RONSON and FRANCIS & THE LIGHTS. And as an unrivaled remixer, BOYS NOIZE has been enlisted by DEPECHE MODE, RAMMSTEIN, DAFT PUNK and DAVID LYNCH, adding his signature to the work of artistic royalty. Even while personally embracing an outsider role, BOYS NOIZE finds his influence penetrating the center: 2020 was marked by a GRAMMY nomination for his collaboration with SKRILLEX and TY DOLLA $IGN “Midnight Hour”—an unlikely blend of late-night R&B, oldskool rave and hard house—while 2021 brought a GRAMMY win for LADY GAGA´s “Rain on Me,” feat. ARIANA GRANDE.
