-- Proceeds to Benefit Local Nonprofits 826 Valencia & La Cocina --

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 7, 2021) – Noise Pop is announcing today an array of local Bay Area vendors and merchants set to participate in the sixth annual 20th Street Block Party taking place Saturday, October 16 from noon to 6 p.m. The admission-free all-ages party will once again take place along 19th and 20th Streets, between Harrison and Bryant Streets in the very heart of the Mission District while benefiting nearby nonprofits 826 Valencia and La Cocina.

Block Party-goers can enjoy various eats and treats from across SF curated by the La Cocina team, including A Girl Named Pinky; Bini's Kitchen; Buko Bakes; D'maize; Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine; KAYMA; Mi Morena; Noodle Girl; Origen; and Peaches Patties. Mission District-based La Cocina offers affordable commercial kitchen space and hands-on assistance to low-income and immigrant women entrepreneurs who are launching, growing, and formalizing food businesses.

The Block Party will also feature vendors, activities, and programming from an eclectic mix of beloved and popular local businesses in the area. New and notable additions to the street fest include live comedy at Noon on the main stage by teen phenom Luke Abranches, Peter’s Pup Booth offering portraits for your favorite furry friend, and the fan-favorite Art Row, which is an interactive collection of creatives from the vibrant local arts community.

One of the festival’s nonprofit partners 826 Valencia will also be present at the Block Party with games and creative activities for kids while also offering up their famous array of pirate goods and exploratory supplies. 826 Valencia is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

Attendees can also enjoy a variety of local vendors selling clothing, hats, art, and more. Featured vendors include local favorite Crossroads Trading Co., with their variety of lightly-used new and vintage clothing, as well as Culk, an Outer Richmond-born design company selling T-Shirts and other apparel. Fans can expand their art collection with the works of local artists including Michael Rohner and Danielle O'Malley, among others.

In true Noise Pop fashion, this year’s community celebration offers a diverse lineup of musical tastes as well as local performers from both the Bay Area and across the West Coast. Headliners include indie folk-pop project Y La Bamba and SF's very own masters of funk, Con Brio. Additional performers include L.A. Witch; French Cassettes; Same Girls; King Isis; LOUDA Y Los Bad Hombres; and Strange Cities.

Admission to this annual event is always free, but donations are highly suggested. While the outdoor event will once again be free to attend for all ages, guests must first register in advance to reserve a spot with online reservations now available at 20thstreetblockparty.com. Advance RSVPs are being required this year to help manage attendance and ensure a safe experience for all.

Additionally, all attendees will be encouraged to wear masks while entering and in close quarters within the grounds, as well as offer extra space for social distancing with their fellow fans while at the Block Party. Masks will also be required while indoors at any of the participating businesses.

For the first time in Block Party history, Headliner Experience VIP tickets have completely sold out in advance. A limited number of free RSVPs are still available, so fans are highly encouraged to reserve their spot today if they haven’t yet already.

Part-street food festival, part-music festival, and part-local shopping bazaar, the community-wide event will once again help to showcase the diverse neighborhood that was home to the Noise Pop offices for over a decade. With a focus on all things local, the fall Block Party will soon highlight the small businesses, food, music, art, and rich culture that inspires the 20th Street community and beyond.

Special thanks to the 2021 Block Party sponsors including BuzzBallz Cocktails, JuneShine Hard Kombucha, Monster Energy, SF Fire Credit Union, Liquid Death Mountain Water, and White Claw Hard Seltzer, as well as local media partner DoTheBay.

The Block Party has invited back SF-based artist Jason Jägel for the eighth year in a row to design the 20th Street Block Party poster artwork. Learn more at jasonjagel.com.
