Pioneering four-piece, Bauhaus, revered as the godfathers of gothic rock, today announce their debut NFT collection (via Nifty Gateway) in collaboration with legendary (and one of the original) cryptoartists, Coldie. The series of three 3D NFTs is the result of two revolutionary and respected voices, artists who helped develop & shape their respective subcultures, merging their talents together across generation and art form. Access the sale HERE (which will go live at 3:30 PM PT today), and read a preview of the NFTs below. - Bauhaus x Coldie NFT #1 is a stereoscopic 3D anaglyph collage of the band's artwork for their iconic track "Bela Lugosi's Dead." This NFT edition of 21 uses red/cyan 3D glasses to enable the stereoscopic depth effect.
- Bauhaus x Coldie NFT #2 is a 3D decentralized animation collage of the band's members incorporating a clip rom "Bela Lugosi's Dead" to create an NFT loop. Edition of 10 NFTs will be available.
- Bauhaus x Coldie NFT #3 is a 3D decentralized animation collage of the band's members incorporating handwritten lyrics of "Bela Lugosi's Dead," photos of the band, as well as a clip from the song with lyrics to create an NFT loop. This is an edition of 1, preview HERE.
Says Bauhaus on the drop today, "We’ve got.....21st century ART. This is the future. This is the now“ with Coldie adding, "The opportunity to collaborate with Bauhaus was an easy decision as I look at them as pioneers and influential music creators. This parallels how I have found myself pioneering in the crypto art and NFT space. Both of us share a love for experimentation, taking chances on new ideas, as well as distressed/photocopied imagery."
Bauhaus' label, Leaving Records, is no stranger to the world of NFTs. Read more about how founder Matthew David McQueen laid the groundwork for Genre DAO, a kind of formalized community built around its own crypto community token: GENRE, HERE.
In celebration of the collection, the collaboration will culminate in an IRL auction party featuring the art on display at Bright Moments NFT Gallery in Venice Beach tonight, August 10th (RSVP HERE). Everyone who attends the IRL show will receive 3D glasses to view the work. |
