Osiris Podcast is excited to release the latest episode of the multidimensional, multimedia podcast series -- Past, Present, Future, Live! -- featuring New Jersey singer-songwriter, Nicole Atkins. Host RJ Bree talks with Atkins about her courageous musical journey and Atkins shares a live performance from a desolate highway of three songs from her latest album, Italian Ice.
Throughout her career, Atkins’ musical approach has combined 50s-style crooning with psychedelia, and soul, all of which help to create her truly unique sound. In this episode, she discusses her writing process, the evolution of her sound, and what happened when Rick Rubin altered the course of her debut album, Neptune City. Atkins tells Bree about a profound moment when she ended up on stage with Donny and Marie, and explains why her latest album, Italian Ice, is an ode to summertime in New Jersey boardwalk towns.
At the end of the episode, Atkins performs stunning versions of her songs "Forever," "Captain," and "Mind Eraser" from her new album, Italian Ice. These videos and all other Past, Present, Future, Live! performances can be found on the Osiris Media YouTube Channel. Music from all the artists mentioned in this interview can be streamed on the Past, Present, Future, Live! Spotify playlist.
Past, Present, Future, Live! is brought to you by Osiris Media. Hosted and Produced by RJ Bee. Executive Producers are Adam Caplan and Kirsten Cluthe. Production, Editing, Mixing, and original theme music by Brad Stratton. Show logo by Liz Bee Art & Design.
