Golf Alpha Bravo is the adopted moniker of Australian singer and guitarist Gab Winterfield (Jagwar Ma). He is set to release his debut album The Sundog LP on June 12 via his own Treasured Recordings label.

The album features 11-tracks filled with his is a unique brand of Surf Blues--a siren to a childhood of growing up on the coast of Sydney Australia: an eternal loop of surf, skate, Frusciante and Hendrix… and the occasional Mario Kart tournament.

“The record moves between looking inward and outward, desire and respite,” notes Gab. “I wanted to make something warm that grooves, something that's deep enough to sink into, and bouncy enough to bop to. An epic journey from the comfort of your lounge, or the soundtrack to a long summer drive.”

Golf Alpha Bravo has released several singles that showcases his versatility, including recent track “Stuck Being Me,” the very vibey “Unwind,” more bouncy “Groove Baby Groove” and defiant “Blue Wave,” earning him major support tours in Australia. The songs will all be featured on The Sundog LP--a title that is a play on the avant-garde musician Moondog and a reference to a weather illusion involving the sun of the same name.

Gab began his career at 16, signing his first record deal and cutting his first LP with Universal/Modular. He would then graduate high school, and move on to form Jagwar Ma as lead singer and guitarist, which would open the world to Gab—touring alongside fellow Aussie’s Tame Impala, Foals and noteworthy performances at Coachella and Glastonbury.

In his final form, Golf Alpha Bravo uncovers a new authenticity.

He realized in a dream what his next logical step was: to hear the ocean in a seashell… A call of the wild, a return to the primal in a sun bleached haze, delving deep into the psyche of the sand and the stars. Golf Alpha Bravo is a primal, beatnik groove for a modern age desirous for escape back to the realness: a new sound to bellow the campfire in all our hearts and magnify the stars in our minds.

Stripped of any embellishment, Golf Alpha Bravo presents live as a power trio. Gab sings and plays guitar accompanied with bass and live drums. Clean reverb guitar tones, mid- and up-tempo grooves & melodic bass lines pull together to create a cool colored collage, reviving the essence of groove from our collective stone age.

“St. Vincent reborn as an internet-spawned pop star: “Girl on Your TV” inflates lullaby-worthy melodies like a swelling Thanksgiving parade balloon, and she slips razor-sharp observations about sexualisation and the lie of technology into her lyrics. “Always,” a wracked conversation with Siri, plays like a Gen Z makeover of Kate Bush…”—The Guardian, 2020 Artist To Watch

May 29, 2020—twst, the project of Welsh songwriter, vocalist and producer ChloĆ© Davis, unveils the “Are You Listening? (hikikomori baby 0001)” video today—watch here. twst’s debut EP, TWST0001, is set for release on June 12.
“With this video, I wanted to draw on the poignant events that humankind has experienced in the last year,” twst says. “I wanted it to feel overwhelming and anxiety-inducing, and for it to visually move at the same hectic pace that the song does. Each line refers to a variety of different problems that really fucking bother me—it's fake news, climate change, over consumption, internet addiction, misogyny—all part of an apocalyptic feeling that's kind of looming right now.”
“Hikikomori baby comes from the Japanese social phenomenon known as ‘hikikomori’—a psychological condition where people shut themselves off from society, often staying in their houses for months on end. I can definitely relate to these feelings of isolation and wonder where the line blurs between a psychological condition, and what we just dismiss as modern, technology-based life.”
“Of course, it seems all too relevant now—the pandemic has put almost the whole world into isolation, yet we are technically more connected than ever. I found this parallel pretty striking, as although we're still all at home and in extreme circumstances, the noise of technology and events doesn't stop. The narrative of the song deals with this overstimulation with a cripplingly lonely callout—am I actually being heard? Being noticed? Does what I care about matter? Do I make a difference at all with my views?”
The EP will feature “Are You Listening?—which earned twst Radio 1 plays with Annie Mac and Jack Saunders—and previously released tracks Always” and “Girl On Your TV,” all of which she co-produced with Danio Forni. The original version of “sad girls club but u gotta be cute,” which premiered via V Magazine, finds twst producing on her own. The new video follows the Tayhana remix of “sad girls club but u gotta be cute”—listen here, and previously shared remixes of “Girl On Your TV” by Clams Casino—listen here, and Strict Face—listen here.
Born and raised in Barry, Wales, twst grew up working in her father’s chicken factory. At 14, she left home and formal education and relocated to a recording studio in the South Wales Valleys where she began teaching herself about music production and pop culture. Now based in London, twst writes, produces and directs all of her music and videos, mostly within the four walls of her bedroom, and frequently collaborates with other creatives she has befriended from London’s close-knit music community.

- ENGLISH PRESS RELEASE -

“1312” by Pussy Riot ft. Parcas, Dillom and Muerejoven is an international anthem against police brutality. Instead of serving people, police forces are oppressing activists, beating innocent people, and at the same time refusing to properly investigate femicides to eradicate them. It's shameful that a policeman can attack a girl activist on a rally, but can't find her when she’s missing and punish her rapist. Latin America is a region that suffers strongly from police barbarity and corruption, and that is the main topic of this song.

"1312"  is inspired by 2019 protesters in Chile and the bravery and strength shown in front of abusive police forces.

The rapist is you, the rapist is you.

It’s the police, the judges, the state, the president.

The oppressive state is a macho rapist.

- chants the feminist art collective LAS TESIS and millions of their supporters on the streets of Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the US, the UK and 50 other countries. Here in Pussy Riot we experienced police batons and have been imprisoned ourselves. And we want to express solidarity together with our Latin American sisters, brothers and non-binary people, who keep standing up for their rights in the face of everyday danger of being slaughtered by those who're in power. We're stoked that Argentinian artists Parcas, Dillom and Muerejoven joined us in this international activist song.

PROBLEMS

1. Police forces are very violent against the protesters. The police is not serving people as it should, but it's used by the elites to shut down people's movements and don't let them challenge the status quo.

In 2017 the report “Los estados latinoamericanos frente a la protesta social”, was published globally. This study was coordinated by Centro de Estudios Legales y Sociales (CELS) from Argentina, and it's about Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, MĆ©xico, Paraguay, PerĆŗ y Venezuela. The report confirms that these countries governments’ response to social protests is violent and it concludes that “the criminalization of activists, the public policies that try to restrict manifestations, and the unpunished violations of human rights are common characteristics”.

In the protests of 2019 in Chile, astonishing numbers from INDH (National Institute for Human Rights) reported 3,535 people being detained and 1,132 civilians getting hurt by policemen, 595 by shootings (real or fake bullets). There were cases of raping too.

In Argentina a brutal case that became viral as it is caught on video, shows how during a protest, an old man was surrounded by policemen that pepper sprayed him on the face and then hit him on the back with the police baton.

2. Police forces are ineffective when it comes to fighting real crime like investigating femicides, murders of political activists like Marielle Franco in Brazil, kidnappings like the 43 disappeared students in Ayotzinapa, MĆ©xico. They're ineffective with fighting against domestic violence as well.

3. Many policemen are corrupted and serve their own interests and those who have money and power.

SOLUTIONS

  1. Refocus police forces towards protection of the civilians instead of oppression and violent suppression of our rights to express and demand what our communities need.

  2. We are here to hold the police forces accountable for every act of violence against civilians. Nothing will go unnoticed.

  3. We demand that if the police show up at the demonstration, they protect our right to speak our minds freely, act respectfully and peacefully.

  4. We are the many, they are the few. We stand together with Chilean protesters, we are women who want to be safe while marching for female rights with Las Tesis. We express our solidarity with Argentinian, Chilean, Mexican, Colombian, Brazilian, Peruvian, and all Latin American sisters and street fighters who only want to have a damn right to be in charge of their bodies and their reproductive system (but only get police batons in response).

  5. Police forces in Latin America and Russia need to be urgently re-trained to focus on protecting women's rights, LQBTQ+ community,  and the  rights of alternatively able people.

PUSSY RIOT:

Pussy Riot is a Russian art punk feminist movement. In 2012 three of Pussy Riot's members were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment following an anti-Putin performance in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

Art is just a part of Pussy Riot’s mission. In 2014, since the release of two members from prison, they launched Mediazona, a free-of-censorship independent Russian media agency focusing on law enforcement issues like conditions in prisons and prosecutions of political activists. Activists of Pussy Riot are advocating for the prison reform in Russia and providing help and lawyers to prisoners.

Besides creating audio visual art such as "Make America Great Again" and "Police State", Pussy Riot has spoken before the US Congress, the British Parliament, and the European Parliament, and has lectured as an honorary speaker at Harvard, Cambridge, the Glastonbury music festival, to name a few, and is a Lennon Ono Grant for Peace recipient, and is a co-recipient of The Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought.

On 13th of May 2020 Pussy Riot has released "KNIFE" EP which problematizes the raise of domestic violence - especially during quarantine.

Saya Releases New Song "SHALLOW(PPL SWIM IN SHALLOW WATERS)"

Introducing: Saya Gray.

Her first song, entitled “SHALLOW (PPL SWIM IN SHALLOW WATERS),” is released today. The track sets the template for Gray’s sonic world -- a swirling of aural colors to create a beautiful whole: picked, oscillating bass and guitar melodies; Gray’s incredible, versatile voice scaling phenomenal heights; ghostly sounds hovering on the peripheries; entire songs blooming within each verse and chorus. At times, it sounds like a collage; at other times, it sounds like a friend elegantly singing in your ear. It is the sort of track that writers say comes from a “fully formed world,” creating a singular experience in three and a half minutes that sounds like nothing else you will hear in 2020. Gray self-recorded and played multiple instruments on the song, which was originally written using voice notes while she was traveling around the world as a touring bassist. The result is intimate and startling, and will be one of your favorite new discoveries this year, hands down. It’s already one of ours.

Anacarina shares new EP 'One of Your Forevers'
BEATS PER MINUTE PREMIERE

April 24th, 2020 -- Today, Los Angeles singer-songwriter Anacarina shares her latest EP 'One of Your Forevers', via Glass Planets. We partnered with Beats Per Minute to give an exclusive first look on the new project!

Written between the ages of 13 and 19, One Of Your Forevers refers to how in life, each relationship, or phase, is its own little forever. There is no end or beginning, nor linear time as most people believe it to be. It all echoes out through eternity.

Anacarina produced One Of Your Forevers with Jonathan Lee Chan and was mastered by Chris Longwood. Together, they create an emotionally powerful EP.

"[Grave is] A song about being in love with someone, feeling that strong desire, and not believing/ having little faith in the success of that connection. Doubting your judgement. Feeling shame and insecurity. Grieving and desperate longing."
- Anacarina

'One of Your Forevers' is out now via Glass Planets.

Anacarina was born in Houston, TX and grew up in The Woodlands, just north of Houston. As a toddler, she was mesmerized by opera stars Andrea Bocelli and Sara Brightman. She was intuitive and artistic with a big imagination. From a young age she took to drawing and writing poetry and short stories. In 6th grade she remembers getting in trouble for doodling on all her paperwork and filling her school spirals with song lyrics.

She migrated to writing on her hands and bits of paper that she’d collected in her pocket. On a road trip, singing along to music with her younger sister and mother, Anacarina felt truly drawn to be a professional singer. Around that time, Anacarina and her sister, Lorelei, created numerous videos for a YouTube channel where Anacarina took on a variety of comical personalities, which sparked an interest in acting as well as singing. She began guitar lessons at age 13, and formed a band with her friends to perform her original songs. They played at local shops and cafes. She began recording her first studio Album Soot Covered Soul in 2015 at the age of 17, which was followed by several single and music video releases.

Anacarina takes pride in designing most of the cover art and graphics for her music. She also has designed covers for other upcoming artists. Her new EP was recorded in Nashville, and she moved to California in 2018. She continues to write new music and is always eager to get into the studio.
