"...precise and layered sound...set yourself under the headphones and get lost." – NPR
"...power and beauty…gloriously abstract and melodic..." – PopMatters
"...breathtaking intricacy and patience...close to Talk Talk and Radiohead territory...
a singular achievement." – Exclaim
“…gorgeously glitchy electronic pop…” – Brooklyn Vegan
APPARAT, aka Sascha Ring, has today shared the
Radio Slave’s remix of
“CARONTE.” This remix precedes the release of a four-track remix EP which is available tomorrow,
August 16. Listen to the hypnotic “CARONTE (Radio Slave Remix)”
here.
Radio Slave is one of the numerous aliases employed by London-based DJ and producer Matt Edwards. He has previously remixed tracks by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Trentemøller.
The original version of “CARONTE” is taken from
LP5, Apparat’s first release since 2013’s
Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre), and follows two studio albums,
II and
III (Mute / Monkeytown) by
Moderat, the trio he founded with Modeselektor’s Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary.
Stream and purchase
LP5 here.
Sublime and delicate, the album finds greatness in small things and in unexpected twists. It joins musical fragments together and glows from the cracks in between.
